JAM - My friends LO is on moo milk (week older than C) - no problems.

Hammy - I have a stairgate at the top of the stairs, that's it. He's never in the room alone and if I go in the kitchen he just follows me. He tries going near the fireplace but like JAM I have covered the marble hearth with cushions and throws so he actually has to climb to get to the fireplace so he gets bored easily. He has learnt to open the door to the hallway and kitchen because they are half doors which fold in the middle so he just pushes them open but he knows it's naughty *rollseyes*

Whenever he gets interested in something naughty I just distract him and now I just shout his name and look at him and he comes away from things he's not supposed to.

Like CSH, I taught J to fall on his bum instead of his back and like K he braces himself for the impact now. Today he managed to stand for about 10 sec without holding on :eek:

My house is generally a tip (no matter how much I try to keep on top of it) and Jack's favourite toys are the hoover, the hairdryer and more recently the toilet

I feel exactly like that. D will be 7 months on Thursday but it looks like my baby has gone. I know it is silly but he sounds a lot like K and I am nodding my head thinking, yes, short changed is exactly how I am feeling

Hammy Sorry to say this, but climbing the stairs came months before V started to walk. :eek: She knows to get down backwards now after lots of practise on the two steps into/out of the house, but I use a moveable stairgate just so I don't have to keep running upstairs to see what she's up to every ten minutes.
Your OH is being a big girl! How are they supposed to learn not to bump into tables until they know that it hurts?


"The" wedding chat - I'm another strange one I think. I was determined not to have children at my wedding (with ex, in the days before we had our own). That is probably one of the main reasons why the wedding never went ahead, the first mention of us not wanting kids there started big wars within the families!
If we were to have a big wedding now, my children would obviously be there, and my closest cousins two little ones. Thankfully, there are no more under 13's in the families so not a problem. (Over 13's are ok and welcome to come) Other than that, I wouldn't invite any other children. I might tell my best RL friend she can bring them if she wants, but i'm 99% certain she wouldn't want too.
I just don't think wedding evening do's are the right place for children, they just get bored and annoying! I'm also 'funny' about little ones in restaurants/pubs/beer gardens after a certain time of night.

BUT as everyone has said, it's the people who's wedding it is that have the final say - if you don't like it, don't go.


CSH - I think that is a bit pathetic not to invite a 14 year old! It's not like she's going to be screeching through the ceremony, poking the cake and doing knee skids across the dancefloor! :rotfl:

Probably! I read something recently on here, possibly the Ebay forum. It said that GHD's are one of the most popular 'fake' items available on ebay. You could be cheeky and email them and ask for the serial number - GHD will tell you whether it's a genuine serial number or not if you email them.

Hammy - I'm with you apart from our marble hearth which I cover with cusions. Everything else shouldn't cause her too much damage - she head butted the wall tonight from her cot (lowering it at weekend) and didn't seem to bother (it wasn't too hard - just a bump) so will just see how she goes with tables etc.

If you put him on the stairs now he would probably climb them - it is much closer to crawling than walking!!

Stairgates are too much of a PITA for me to bother with them I am not sure when we would ever use one either...we are upstairs if we are in bed and downstairs if we are awake (and I keep the living room door closed).

Hi everyone, sorry Ive not been on much lately, been trying to keep up though.

GISI - Well done on the race for life Saw ur pix on fb, v cute!!

Well I have sorted out my return to work, boo hiss!! Ive booked T into a local nursery for 2 days, Im gonna work on Tues and Weds all day. I was really impressed with the nursery and they played with T whilst the lady was talking me through what they do, and he seemed really happy which I thought was a good enough indication of the place Going to start work in September so still have a little while off but no doubt its gonna fly!!

T has also started saying mamama and dadada just lately which is very cute and copying us when we wave. He has been a bit more 'cry-ey' (clearly not a word) today though so I wonder if his 2nd tooth is coming through, think it looks a bit raised right next to his 1st tooth.

I have started to brush his tooth with a teeny bit of baby toothpaste, what do I do about rinsing it out, I have been trying to give him a drink from his sippy cup, is that a good idea?

Aimee used to love the toilet and the loo brush... She had a friend to play when she was about 2 and while I was doing something in one of the bedrooms, her and her friend were styling each others hair with toilet water... :eek: At least they were close to the bath!!!

Evening all,

MSE is running really slow for me too.

Turned out it was lovely weather at MILs despite being a bit miserable here. Had lunch there and stayed for a couple of hours before coming home.

Holly is in bed now....night 3 of letting her cry and she lasted 7 mins from leaving her room before she fell asleep! :T
She is still waking during the night at around 4-5am, and I am not leaving her to cry at that stage at the moment. Hoping the night time wakenings will phase out, but we will see.

ETA - good luck Ladybird!

Boo - You are not recommended to rinse toothpaste out now as it rinses away the fluoride. You just paint on a tiny bit of toothpaste and leave it.
