    Contact your Trading Standards via http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/
    they will tell you if you can get your money back and can also intervene on your behalf if you are entitled to a refund but dont get anywhere with the hotel, they can also email you template letters to use.

    Don't name them! You don't know who could be reading - and sometimes i think we just all want to be able to feel a bit anonymous when venting our problems... especially when it is to do with something like a wedding which feels really personal, but you need someone to talk to as well!

    Just wondered how your getting on. I worked as a Head chef for a very big national hotel and there is ways of getting your deposit back.

    If you still have not gotten this deposit back I can help you with the proper channels it involves going out side of the hotel itself and to head office. There is a code of service in a hotel especially for event co-ordinators from hotels and there are things you can tell a head office that would get your money back right away.
