I dont quite get why people are disbelieving ...

It's getting quite an epidemic on here, people being accused of lying/trolling every five minutes... and yes, I know it DOES happen - but don't jump on people right away, give them a chance!

i know...im not quite sure why they think i would make it up and then waste my time registering and then writing it out lol.... and if by any chance that i named the place, surely that would put me in a vunerable position and could jephordise my position... lol just not beneficial for me to 'out' them until my issue is sorted.... all i was after was a bit of info as to whether people thought i could get the deposit back.... confused.com!!

thanks fleagle21, i am basically after the info so that i can march in there and say this is how i feel, this is what i would now like and these are the reasons why... i dont want to have to cancel the wedding but i just have no confidence in them to hold whats meant to be the biggest day of our lives, on the biggest day of the year and for it to be amazing and run smoothly...

i have to say i was almost amused when we had an email in response to our last phone message when she said she wasnt available for another 3 weeks..... lol

You could be devious... phone as a new enquiry about a wedding to find out whether she is in or not (sometimes places are shockingly a lot more welcoming to new 'spends'), then turn up in person and have a word/hand deliver a letter/log a formal complaint :)

seriously?? ha you try be in my position, feel as emotional as i do about your special day and then try to write it down in a way that people will understand but without going into every single detail as it would take hours.

thank you for your lovely critisism on my spelling, grammar and age but you are completely wrong and therefore shouldnt really be throwing your judgement and accusations around until you ACTUALLY have the facts.

ahh i didnt think of ringing as if a new enquiry and then turning up at a time she is there! so simple! the hotel is in the same town as where i live and i know it sounds silly but as im not too good at face to face confrontation - i tend to get hot headed and then nervous and cant explain myself properly - i was hoping i could have avoided it...

will ring them first thing!! good idea! thanks :)

Actually, there is very good reason not to publish the name of a wedding venue at this stage and apart from anything else, it is IRRELEVANT!!!

The very good reason being? Why not tell us all?

If they have increased the minimum spend that they are obligating you to pay and that was not a condition before you paid the deposit and signed up then I would imagine you have a reason to cancel and get your deposit back. I'm by no means an expert with anything like this but surely if there is a change in the conditions they are enforcing then you must surely have the option to back out? When you get your meeting try and keep a level head and have all of your key points and concerns noted down to keep you on track when you feel emotions start to take over. Good luck!! Let us know how you get on.
