The very good reason being? Why not tell us all?

Because, in my case, it has been a long legal process to get the money back from the venue. Had I published the name then google searches would lead to the venue and if the owner had found my thread about his venue, he would know all the advice I had received on here and would know my next plan of action including when the bailiffs were going in. I was actually advised by others on here not to publish the name of the venue so am not in the minority. I cannot speak on the OPs behalf but my first post was very similar to hers. She is looking for advice about what to do, the naming and shaming comes later.
I am very glad househuntr did not reply to my first posts or I may not be where I am now with our £5000 back. Thank goodness for supportive people who do more than pathetic namecalling and picking people up for their spelling and grammar. :D

beks, you won't get any sense out of Househuntr. He can't even spell his own user name.

Yes, that is very true and I am very grateful. :D
I was advised not to by the same MSE people who helped me!!!!!!!!
I did at one stage and then deleted on advice from MSE users.
I will be naming once the bailiffs have released our money. Thanks for your interest but I don't think I should have to justify myself. :)

    :rotfl:

Yes, we have it back but it is lodged with the bank as the bailiffs are not allowed to carry such large amounts. Waiting until it is back in our pockets before we publicise (again advised to do so by fellow MSE). Am glad that is clear now and I hope you feel I am not swindling the MSE people anymore like you are seeming to imply. :)

I'm not implying anything, I'm just trying to understand. I suspect the next thing may be you can't publicise anything due to the terms of the settlement.

Oh, I think you are implying rather a lot by your posts and we both know it. I really take offence to the fact that you are trying to call me a liar just for not publicising the venue name. Although, I am sure you will deny that that is what you are implying. You obviously have no understanding of the legal system - one would normally presume that if bailiffs have been called in, there would be no 'settlement'.

You clearly don't know anything about my thread and the problems we have encountered. Going back to the original point, my problems started in a very similar way to this OPs hence, I can understand her reasons not to publicise.

Why do you seem to presume that people are lying and have to prove that they are not? Can you not take people at their word? .... I find that very sad.

I really don't understand why the harping on about naming the place. There's no MSE forum rule that says the OP must do this and if a poster doesn't want to or cannot then what's the problem?? Also, there is the chance that a poster may not want to mention specifics that may identify themselves, what is so wrong with that? If you don't believe something to be true then why waste your time posting on the thread when there are plenty of other threads around to post on?

By naming the hotel that still holds her deposit or potentially still will be the venue for her wedding, she would seal the deal and most likely lose the deposit. not that difficult is it? especially as the place is in her home town. also by naming the hotel she will be revealing her identity, also not ideal if you are in such an important dispute. now leave her alone.. :D
