Cats using neighbours garden as loo HELP PLEASE

Hi i have 2 year old cats who have been going out since about 4 months old, i live in a semi and only have 1 neighbour, the property next door to me was empty for a year and a family moved in just before xmas, we have a very low fence between gardens and housing wont put anything higher as thats the size give everyone. I informed the new tenants that i have 2 cats who have been going in the garden constantly and if they see them in there to shoo them out if that was ok, they were both happy to do that, they had the garden dug over by the housing before they moved in and its just a huge patch of mud, they have a 2 yr old and dont allow him to go on the mud, anyway i was in my kitchen yesterday when i heard her say to her toddler, get off the mud cause there's cats poo everywhere, i went out and said "OH sorry if there is but i cant stop them doing it as i have also just had a catflap fitted and they now use outside only to go toilet, i said i would get them a spray bottle and for them to spray the cats with water when they see them in the garden so we can stop them going in there at all to which she replied to me that they were going to purchased a item online which lets out a noise to stop the cats going on there side of the garden. Now my worry is that this device which i know lets out a high pitched noise will stop my cats coming back to my garden, i said this to her and she said they will only have it on low so should be ok, does anyone have any knowledge about these devices as i worrying a bit as to how it will affect my cats... And if anyone has any advice as to how to stop the cats going in the garden???

Our next door has one, the cats seem to ignore it. They might even like it as they are always over on her side of the fence :)

Use a litter tray in your kitchen?

Take your cats for a walk on a lead?

Your neighbour can use anything they want to keep your cats out of their garden.

Yes i do care about my cats !!!!!!!! in my neighbours garden, enough to go and buy them a spray water bottle today and write this thread to get some advice, i also care about my cats enough to make sure there not going to be affected by the item my neighbour is going to buy...
I don't care for stupid comments about taking them for walks on leads or getting a cat litter box in my kitchen.

    Ignoring all the rest....

What about an upside-down bottle filled with water? Doesn't that un-nerve them or something? Or a glass-eyed statue? That way it would only be on their side?

Seriously. If I wasn't just leaving for dinner, I'd do some research for you!

Thanks for your help last couple of posts, i find the water spray bottle stops them doing a few things in my house so thats why i purchased a bottle for them as its a safe product, before i got my cats i also had problems with cats pooing in my garden and i purchased plastic snakes and put them in the flower beds which did help a bit but my cats are used to seeing the snakes so dont fear them, i also bought pepper powder to put on my borders that have pebbles and they actually like the smell so pointless... Also i am taking responsability for the mess in there garden and its a possiblilty that its other cats also, so seeing comments and pics above is very unfair and comments about shooting them is disgusting..

Just because the housing won't supply a higher fence doesn't stop you from getting one!

I would go off my head if my neighbours cat/s were sh!tting all over my garden and come on, what is a spray bottle going to do? What about when your neighbours are out, they won't be able to use it then will they?!

I can't believe you are so lax about it, I would be mortified, especially as there is a young toddler there!
