I would ALWAYS ask if I could collect before bidding, you can not assume that the seller wants people turning up at their door!
Many people would have valid reasons for being a bit miffed at you bidding, then trying to change the terms of what you bid on!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

By the way, I'm pretty sure I have seen sellers addresses when I have bought from ebay and paid for postage so the people who don't want people to know where they live should be careful.Bump due 22nd September0

You get the address of the seller as standard only if you buy from a business seller.hayleythedaisy wrote: »By the way, I'm pretty sure I have seen sellers addresses when I have bought from ebay and paid for postage so the people who don't want people to know where they live should be careful.
Hi OP if you bid on an item and collection is not in the postage options you cannot collect if the seller does not want you to.
If you are going to collect and the seller has agreed this with you after the auction has finished they can add an administration fee for this as they will have to arrange a time when you can call and may have already packed the item.
I have do not display a collection option on any of my listings and so I do not need to write no collections on my listings as the collection option is not available to the buyer.
I sell all of my items free post and packing if you live in the UK if a buyer lives local and asks to collect I always say yes but there is a £5 administration fee for doing so or I can post it to you for free.
I am well within my rights to do this and I have had 2 buyers removed from ebay for getting funny with me over this administration fee.
This stops any buyer trying to get money off at the doorstep and because of this ebay will always back the seller for refusing collection when they have not given collection as an option on the listing.
You may think this is a strange stance for ebay to take but it is not as this also stops a buyer saying we can do a mutual cancelation and half the ebay fee between us so if a seller does not want to have a collection option or charges for the collection option ebay will always side with the seller.0
