The neighbour is protecting his pigeons and good for him. If the cat doesn't go in his garden it will not get trapped.
so tell me how you propose to do this. a cat will do what it wants when it wants
you could try a zoo and get some lion urine spray it around the garden it would stink but the cat would not go anywhere near that gardenT&C APPLY0 -

Cats hate water.
that would not work for one of my little bird murderers as he likes nothing better than getting in the bath with meT&C APPLY0 -
Have a look here Greenpixey. You'll have to scroll down a bit, but there are headings for domestic cats and feral cats which will give you an answer to his threat to trap your cat.
It sounds to me that you are trying your best to resolve the situation, but that he is being less than helpful. What a pity he can't just work with you to agree a time when you could keep your cat in.

good find Fleago.
That looks like a useful website to save.
Greenpixey, you could print off the bit about traps and show it to the blighter .0 -
He is a really nice and good neighbour. Most of the time we get on well. It's just the sore subject of his pigeons. I'm trying to find solutions on how to get my cat to stay away from his garden without causing arguments.
So if anyone here got racing pigeons and got any further suggestions I be most gratefull.0 -

Cats have a right to roam and are NOT as previously stated, treated as 'wild animals' - not even feral cats that really are wild. Your neighbour could be in VERY serious trouble for trapping and killing a cat. If it went to court, which if the RSPCA got wind of it, it certainly would, he could get banned from keeping animals - including his birds.
Unless an area is fully enclosed a cat can and probably will get in. My cat is 21 years old and can still scale our 5 foot fence. Bells on collars is the best way for the OP in my opinion and after that it's the pigeon owners responsibility to protect his birds using deterrents and netting etc. It's just a case of doing what you can reasonably do then after that any killings are unfortunate but unavoidable.

if his 'racing' pigeons can't out fly a cat then they're sh*te pigeons and deserve to be caught.
Instead of trying to train your cat not to eat them tell him to train his vermin to do what they're supposed to do.
If that doesn't work let them all out in the middle of the night, get rid of the pigeon stuff in his shed and fill it with stuff that should be in a shed. Seeing as he's knocking on a bit he'll probably not even remember he had pigeons to start with.0
