Sarah,
I know you aren't considering going back to work yet but don't let the fact that you have been out of the workforce stop you in the future. It isn't as if you've been sitting on your backside doing nothing. A CV is all about the wording, turn everything into a positive. Looking after a family and a home isn't an easy task plus you've done voluntary work, that always looks good on a CV. One of your interests should also include "offering help and advice" on this board.
When the time comes, you can get advice on the layout and wording on a CV from an adult advisor in places such as Connexions but there will be others who offer this kind of service.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that with all the advice and suggestions on here, you will soon put your money problems behind you.Sarahsaver wrote:I did try to get a job, before christmas. Absolutely agree with what smokeysmate said about what goes on your cv. I went from voluntary work with a little bit of selfemployed into a full-time job managing a team of 6! My son asked what I'd done to be so important! (but he was a lot smaller and cuter then ...)
so glad to hear the boys are starting to have a go without trainer pants at night: it's half the battle when they WANT to do it!
that idea about keeping one son's washing separate may also be worth a try: I'm currently segregating my husband's because we think one brand of washing powder may be upsetting his skin, only I've got lots of it because it was on special... So I do a load of 'NOT his', then a load of 'his plus whatever else it takes to fill the machine up'. Depends how many clothes your son has, of course, but I find this system works for me.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Well i am about to celebrate with a friend soon, it's not 'all mine' but here's what happened...
The house will be transferred to my SOLE NAME YIPPEEEEEEE:)
The judge took no account of the ex's large and ever increasing debts which HE said were marital (yeah right...)
I have to pay the ex 40% of the equity when the youngest finishes full time education. He's 3 right now and judging by his intelligence I think I'd better get him signed up to do a PHD
I am relieved that its all sorted out. its not really fair considering what i've paid and what he's NOT paid, but nevertheless I have the house, and therefore security. He has lots of debt collectors on his tail.
By the way, walking through town the other day I saw a recruitment poster wanting 'mums returning to work' hours 9.30 to 2.30:) I'm off to see them on monday with my very good CVMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Oh Sarah, I'm so pleased that things are finally looking up for you. I don't think I've ever heard of a sensible judge before who uses common sense
Enjoy your evening with your friend, you deserve it:)Whoever said everything was possible obviously hasn't tried slamming a revolving door
