  • Me and OH love going to centre parcs - in December every year to the Winter Wonderland - I am a Christmas fanatic and love to walk around the woodlands and cosy up, but this year it is just too expensive!!! We have been quoted for 1st wkend in Dec (when we would have gone to CP) a minicruise to Bruges with P&O Ferries with an additional overnight stay in the city for £185 for both of us (just have to book and pay for own accomm in Bruges that 1 extra night) I am really chuffed at this price as CP is coming back at £360 for a weekend accomm only - it will be freezing in Bruges and really wintery and there is also supposed to be an ice sculpture festival on too!
So I think this year I am going to 'Shun' centre parcs in favour of an adventure more further affield.....

Well...Yesterday I was shocked to see that the price of my (Equivalent ) break had dropped over £200... So much for their 'fair pricing' policy...so, I phoned them up to register my disproval...got an upgrade plus some money back...so worth a try if the 'equivalent' accomodation' or above is available now at a cheaper price. I would advise to phone them and try...nothing to lose..Good Luck

Thanks for this jaccol. It's always useful to know that they are willing to negotiate! I have communicated by email initially without success so think that I may have to give them a call. I will report back.

I sent them an email but got a standard response saying that the price booked is the price you pay. I responded to that email but never got a reply. I gave them a call as you suggested and I spoke to a very nice lady who advised that there had been an internal communication about the Christmas breaks being discounted and that they would refund the difference as a gesture of goodwill but only on this occassion. I had to jump through a few hoops but have now got my £80 difference refunded and I am once again a happy customer and looking forward to my break!
  • Hi all

Just wanted to give a positive example here

we booked xmas 2009 a good 5 months ago, at a price of 999 quid I think, now the same holiday is on there for 699, So we wrote them a letter to their head office telling them what we think of this and how we have been many times over the last few years and they rang us up yesterday and refunded the £300 difference

    Thanks

I booked on 1st Oct (for school easter hol April 12th 2010). It's now 9th Oct and the price for the same has gone up £50.

It's now gone up a further £60. Seems (for Easter at least) booking earlyish was a good decision. In less than a month it's gone up over £100. We do make it more expensive on ourselves as I don't like the comfort villas (they lack any comfort in my view!) so have to pay to get exec villa which is not exactly the lap of luxury but far more acceptable to me.

I did think about going at Christmas so I know what prices were and can see how much they have come down although seems they are already going back up fast. The dates on offer (2 days or 5 days didn't suit me as two not enough and five too many) and it WAS overpriced for a two day break so good to see that has been realised and you guys have been refunded.

I'm considering booking a CP holiday. If I look at "Late Availability" deals I can get the villa I want for £319. However if I try to book using their online system it's £359 for the same villa. Is this common? Am I neglecting to do something I need to do to get the cheaper rate.

    Bump. Any ideas...?

    thanks
  • Unfortunately that tends to happen, thet will have a few villas at the cheaper price but the price will go up once these have gone.

It is also very difficult to know whether to hold out and hope the price will go back down again. In my experience the prices go up more than they go down since they introduced flexible pricing but they do sometimes go down - this week they knocked £40 off the price of a comfort villa at Longleat for 13/11/09 but the woodland lodge went up
