Yes, stated in my listing payment must be made within 3 days. All of my auctions have that in.
I didnt relist on the 6th day. I relisted on the 7th day. I sent him the e-mail on the 6th day, not nasty or anything, just stating that due to moving, and not having the room for it while I move, I will need to relist it if I don't recieve payment in the next 24 hours.
26 hours later, I relisted it. It was actually nearer 8 days from the actual auction ending that I relisted it.
2 days after it being relisted, he decided to send payment, several times.0 -
Dont worry Graham, if I were in your shoes I would probably have done the same simply because the buyer did not communicate at all. If he goes and wins the second auction, then he has to pay the amount the second auction went for, not the first, regardless of him winning the first. Both auctions are considered separate.0

Phew it's not just me then!0

Unfortunately this is neither here nor there as it is eBay that sets the rules, not you as seller. By relisting the item before the NPB period had elapsed you have broken the contract you had with the buyer to sell them item to them at the original auction price.
I sympathise with you as the buyer sounds like an idiot, just re-paying all the time without proper contact, but i'm afraid you might have to give in on this one.0 -
Perhaps this situation could have been avoided if an unpaid item dispute had been issued and then you could have relisted the item.
Stating that the buyer has 3 days in which to pay is totally irrelevant as eBay allow a buyer 7 days in which to make payment.
If I were you I'd accept the buyers payment, post the item and then block them from any of your future auctions.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
Also, take out the bit about payment within 3 days from your future auctions. It might put people off bidding as it rather indicates that the seller isn't sure how ebay works. There is no point in having statements like that if there isn't the mechanism to do anything about it if they don't comply.

Well as an update to this (I know you lot think I'm wrong, but there we go, after 7 days with absolutely no communication even though I tried I gave up).
The buyer got outbid on the relisted auction. The new buyer paid instantly, and now has the goods. Didnt hear anything from the original buyer for a while.
So, look yersterday, e-mail, he has paid me again. I have sent so many e-mails, so many notes on paypal etc. The last time he paid me I stated in an E-mail marked urgent, AND in the paypal note on refund that I will NOT be refunding again if he pays me again as I have nothing to send him (hell, he can neg me now if he likes, just wish he would go away!). Telling him I will not refund again was to try and stop him, thought it had worked.
So now I have his money in my paypal account. Seriously, I may be wrong according to you lot, but I can't carry on like this. Anything I can do? His details which I requested are also wrong, tried phoning. Just a dead line.
So to sum it up.
No payment after 7 days, 2 invoices sent, about 4 e-mails, an e-mail on the 6th day stating I would relist in 24 hours, relisted on the 8th day.
10th day get payment, refund, get payment, refund, get payment, refund, get payment, refund.
MANY e-mails have now been sent and also paypal notes. The item has gone to the better buyer for a lot more money.
What do I do? Keep the money? He seems so intent on giving it to me, has fake details.
Theres another thread on here about a seller having fake e-mails and apprently thats all bad, so isnt the buyer having fake e-mails bad also?
And yes, he does have some bad feedback about late payment, non payment and no communication, about 15 out of 400.0 -
As I said before good on you.
Things to do:-
1. Don't take the money out of your account, at some point PayPal will issue a chargeback.
2. Report him for incorrect contact details.
3. Wait for neg and then send a carefully worded one in return.
4. Next time save yourself the hassle and wait 7 days and issue an NPB and go through the system...you'll live longer

Thanks, I have kept the money, just going to keep it until he raises either a chargeback, or amazingly, finds out how to use e-mail and get's in touch!0
