theres quite a few add ons but the issue still arises in safemode with no add ons. Not sure how to devise a list for the add ons

Under performance in task manager the only list other than PF usage and CPU usage graphs are;
Handles - 10775
Threads - 526
Processes - 50
in the totals list.

Thats the best I can do for running apps

If you look at my original post again, there is a list of apps that can either be disabled at startup, or removed completely, as it stands your peak commit is twice the ram size, which is when it's going to go slow, and you have about twice as many processes running than you need to. On top of that, loads of IE addons can probably go.

The link to portable firefox, was to rule out an issue with your copy of firefox, if portable firefox loads in 5 seconds, and your version (they can coexist) takes minutes, and allocates tons of memory, then it points to your firefox version/profile/memory leak/installation/bookmarks/sqlite db, or addons.

Ideally you want to get peak commit below 512MB by trimming startup apps, even if it doesn't resolve the problem, it will make the machine much more responsive, and speed up all the malware scans

Does IE and everything else load fast, how long to boot, and is it a laptop or a desktop?
