I can't believe Santander will be using just Call Credit?? based on previous experience they hold very little information, they must be using them in addition to one of the bigger CRA?0 -
I bought a new BMW and they checked my Experian file, don't know about what others though as I only have a free subscription with Experian.0
-
Yeah LOL! I can do a nearly new Mondeo or a 5 year old 5 series!
But the same question remains: anyone had experience of either finance house?
Experian for both, however they could use any number of finance houses for your application, not just their own.
Blackhorse and Santander are also used by Ford and BMW, both of whom also search Experian.0 -
Thanks!
I have the same data on both experian and equifax but even though their credit ratings are not reliable, I always feel I get a raw deal when companies search Equifax.
I wish there was a way to request they assess me with a search that doesn't leave a footprint!0 -
OK. Utterly miffed now. I went to Ford and applied and got turned down point blank. They used Santander and then Barclays.
I heard there is a new law since Feb that means they have to tell you why they turned you down. I have to write to them to find out.
Anyone else had experience of the "why" reply and if it is useful or not?0 -

They will not tell you and why should they, if they did people would then use this to their advantage for further applications.
They normally come out with the same old sh*t like you can get more information on Experian & Equifax, about why you were turned down which is crap.0 -

Heaven forbid consumers can legitimately make themselves more desirable for credit!:D
As it is I will have to live with a lower rating for the next 6 months due to two unsuccessful credit applications! :mad:0
