And calls to (the unfortunately 'usual') 10p/minute (g7) 0871/2/3 numbers will cost and eye-watering 19p/minute instead of 10p/minute!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. One thing i dont know is are O2 using full LLU for line rental and broadband packages (like Talk Talk and Sky do) or reselling the line via BT Wholesale on a WLR2/3 product ?.
  • I would imagine that at the 1236 exchanges where O2 have a presence it will be full LLU if you decide to take both Broadband and Phone services.

At the moment at these exchanges if you have O2 Broadband it is shared LLU with BT voice.

All other exchanges (i.e. where only O2 Access is available) will be BT Wholesale.

To be fair to O2 though how many people actually make more than 600 mins a month to 0845/0870 numbers...

utilitybroker - you seem to be coming on here and bashing O2 a lot at the moment, any reason why???

Many people come on here shocked how much Virgin have charged them to call 0844 numbers etc. so is it not reasonable for utilitybroker to point out pitfalls to potential customers of O2.

    I did too (post #2).

My turn for a rollocking now?

P.S. The reason for such posts is to point out to readers that there are aspects of O2's offering which are most certainly not in keeping with the aims of the site - money saving.

looks like they are they going to suffer the same customer service issues as talk talk and sky when it comes to things like changing your phone number or moving home They cant or wont do it and will refer you to BT.
I had high hopes for O2 but looks like more of the same we have seen before

    Prove me wrong O2
  • My, my, my.

O2 had become all saintly in the eyes of many (mine included). I must admit I'm surprised by those T&Cs, how many people read them?

Trap for the unsuspecting! I hope they don't introduce such cheekey terms for the broadband service - I'm very wary now!

Don't ever read the full terms of a mobile airtime agreement then (though they are indifferent from other networks) :rotfl:

I have O2 broadband through their LLU service. If I go with their home phone service, I understand that my line would be moved away completely from BT. If I decided to eventually go back to BT, is there a reconnection charge under these circumstance, or would they reconnect for free as long as I committed to a lengthy contract?
