I assume you don't know that the screens on Technika TVs are actually manufactured by Samsung, then? Also, why the ' '... it's its name?

And as you bought it up, Nissans are considerably more reliable than Astons if you use them on a day-to-day basis, and a GT-R will annihilate a DBS (for example) both for market price, speed and handling (based on Nurburgring times), reliability, repair costs and fuel economy.

So what if the screen was manufactured by Samsung? Samsung and Sony jointly manufacture the screen panels, but Samsung LCD's are still quite cheaply built compared to a Sony. Your TV is still crap, whatever way you choose to look at it. Cheaply built, poor menu system and options etc etc. There are reasons why these TV's are so cheap and hardly ever reviewed by anyone.
  • Alot of snobbery around about TV's , my tesco tecknika 32" is constantly remarked on for its picture quality. A £199 bargain and wish I could have brought another !

Each to there own but unless you live with a TV you can't really comment on it.

Why is it snobbery? Im in a position to comment on all these panels as I have tested most brands thouroughly for several weeks. If youre happy with your TV thats good, its what counts, but it does not mean it is a quality TV compared to other brands just because youre happy with it.

We have a Sony in our lounge and my son has a Technika in his bedroom and to be totally honest the picture quality on both is pretty superb. The Technika does a really great job, and who gives a stuff about all the menu option? Turn it on to HDMI input for Sky and what else do you use other than volume control? For the money the Technika is a great piece of kit.
Seems to me that Iwantthatone just likes to feel superior to other people by rubbishing their buying decisions. I call that snobbery too - the feeling of smug superiorty that some people need to make their own existence feel important.

And yet again you fail. Know who make the Sony LCD screens? Samsung.
Sony and Samsung compete in many areas such as TVs, cellphones, laptops and digital music players but the Japanese firm is also the biggest buyer of Samsung's LCD displays for TVs.

So basically, our Technika screen is built to the same standards as the screen on your Sony.

As for cheaply built, to go back to your Aston Martin anology: The new AM Rapide is made in the same factory as the Peugeot RCZ.

So you've basically just said you'll pay more just for a decent menu and options?

It isnt snobbery, so dont try and get smart you foolish man.
You're quite an opinionated abusive person, aren't you? You don't by any chance work for Sony's Marketing department, do you?

You are correct - I bought my son's Technika because it was cheap. I was then very pleasantly surprised to find that the picture and sound quality were excellent, when I would have expected them to both be at best acceptable. My point is that MSErs shouldn't write off a non-Sony product just because iwantthatone says you are foolish or stupid, and that non-Sony TVs are "crappy".

Yes Sir, a lot more than one of those tv's, I would have had more stock than my local Curry's. That's my choice and I do that with a lot of glitches - some come off, some don't - this one didn't.

Hehehe, :rotfl::rotfl: I don't know if you are winding people up or you really did order a lot. Either way, was it worth the 'flak' to even mention it? Why did you mention it?
I bet there was quite a few who ordered more than one to sell on and make a profit and why not indeed. ;):p

Lol. I stated I bought more than one as that's the main reason I decided not to make a claim, though I never stated ever how many I actually ordered, so no wind up. I never got my tv's so I missed out on any profit which would have gave a "free" holiday.
I'm also not daft enough to order lots in one transaction/name, though I fully disagree that multiple orders would invalidate other orders - that is just plain silly.
To order many tv's is no different to ordering say many glitch 10p chocalate bars, the amount is the only difference.
I've stated before I will NEVER order to suit members of a forum and if I can profit on a glitch then that will be the case.
Would it be wrong for say a small business who sells tv's ordering 20, 30, 40 or more tv's at the advertised price?? It's no different for any individual either, unless you have a bigoted attitude. It's a free for all, each to do as they see it. I don't complain about people ordering just one, I don't complain about people ordering two, perhaps one for a friend etc., so why should others complain about those who decide to order many??
