You mean you ordered more than one of these TVs?

Yes Sir, a lot more than one of those tv's, I would have had more stock than my local Curry's. That's my choice and I do that with a lot of glitches - some come off, some don't - this one didn't.

People like you spoil it for all when you order loads for your own greed. Bet you were one of the people that put one on ebay within an hour of ordering!

No, never ever put one on ebay, there are better ways than that. Some might call it greed, others might call it oppertunism?? It was my personal choice to attempt to buy the amount I did and I will NEVER EVER order to suit members of a forum.
I bet others also attempted to order more than myself.
Anyway, it's over for me, let's just hope anyone who pursues this succeeds.

    Lynsey,
If I were you I would delete your recent posts because Pixmania may well use this as part of their argument in court (if anyone ever gets that far).
People on this forum CLEARLY knew this was a price error, not a genuine sale, no matter what some now claim to have thought at the time.

Personally though I rank you just above those people who phone up providers to ask if this fantastic too-good-to-be-true deal is really a genuine deal.

One reason why anyone with any sense who spots a deal like this should keep their mouths shut, buy the product, and ONLY when it is in their hands should they tell others about it.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.

    I didn't at the time.

  • lol, if you say so. A 42" LED TV for £199 or whatever it was? Yeah, cos there has EVER been a sale like that before!

You may spend your time working out which is the best buy TV & the newest model with the best spec.

    I don't.

Now who is sadder? That is the question?

I thought it was a glitch, yes, but the way Pixmania advertised this tv complete with percentage discount and actually showing it was a time related deal could have made others think it was genuine. It was an opportune moment for me (still waiting for another biggee).

But, what if retailers deliberately put on display a glitch which they know they won't honour BUT may achieve sales by offering vouchers in "compensation" - would that be ok??

It works both ways for (sinister) me I'm afraid.

  • Thing is, that "85% off" or whatever it is would just be a piece of system automated script put on most pages, it takes the 'was' price and the 'now' price and automatically works out and displays it as a percentage discount. They wouldn't have actually put it there purposely I doubt (although i'm all for being proved wrong!) and so when the misprice was made the discount was automatically written in.

1984returnsforreal - any court would expect a consumer to have an indication as to the expected market price for a product. That's just how it is. No need to call me sad is there. Especially where £200 is concerned - it's a lot of money to the standard member of the public and so any court would expect them to have looked into it before spending such a large amount of money.

You honestly telling me you didn't know it was a misprice, that you thought £200 for a 42" LED TV was perfectly normal? The majority of people (might I add, especially those that come on this site, more especially those that seem to be as active as you with over 5,000 posts in just over a year) would actually do exactly that - look into the best buy for a TV and look at costs.

I presume if you're calling people sad for looking into best buys you really have something against the entire user-set of the Grabbit board - that's exactly what it's there for! If you hadn't been looking at the Grabbit board in the first place you wouldn't have seen the deal yourself - so don't get personal!

I agree with a lot of what you say Mark and do have respect for you and agree that the percentage discount shown would have been automated, but that is the system THEY decided to use. They put this live knowing what was place with a dodgy set of T&C's - surely you must agree they have to take a large part of the blame for this, unless it was an intentional marketing ploy??
I still personally believe people could have thought this was genuine the way it was marketed, but that's just me.
