Still some good offers on TVs from other places.
If your arms are long enough to reach your pockets and you can drag yourselves away from the internet crusading........0 -
How do I go about getting bargain deals like this. I saw that someone managed to get a 47in LCD TV for £199., how did they manage that...from kerry0

Just hold your breath until you turn blue and pass out, my dear.
When you come round again the TV will have been delivered to your door by winged porcines.
The fairies at the bottom of your garden will help you set it up if you get stuck.

I just hope you don't get stuck Kerry, or if you do I hope the fairies at the bottom of your garden are better than mine............mine were useless.

That put a 42" TV at around £650-£700.
Now that sounds about right to me... In fact that still sounds a lot of money.. I should imagine many MSErs can point out 42" TVs for less than the above.
Granted it's only a Technika, but having plugged it into the PS3 through one of the HD sockets I can't see how the picture's any lower quality than you'd get from a Sony / Samsung.
The TV deals are definitely out there if you look for them.kerryb1984 wrote: »How do I go about getting bargain deals like this. I saw that someone managed to get a 47in LCD TV for £199., how did they manage that...from kerry
They nicked it, and dropped their wallet (which contained £199) while they were carrying it away.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

If youre happy with your 'Technika', then thats all good. But dont even try to compare it to a Sony, or even a Samsung. Its like comparing an Aston Martin to a Nissan, you simply dont.0 -
I think I am very close to lodging a claim against Pixmania. However I somewhat disagree with the take that we can claim against their UK address as our contract was with Pixmania S.A.S. with they're address in France.
Hence I found some information on the 'European Small Claims Procedure' which does allow us to take action against Pixmania S.A.S. themselves.
Google these links/put www. in front (can't post as new user):
aboutsmallclaims.co.uk/debtor-eu.html
hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/eu_cross_border_claim/index.htm
ec.europa.eu/civiljustice/case_to_court/case_to_court_ec_en.htm
Court Forms:
ec.europa.eu/justice_home/judicialatlascivil/html/sc_filling_uk_en.htm
(can't be processed online - print off, fill in form A, hand into local county court)
I don't claim to be an expert but think this similar European small claims method is more appropriate than claiming against their UK address online. I can't find how much the fees would be but I think it could be the same if not less than claiming online as the claim should be heard in a simpler form than an oral court hearing if possible ie. webcam
Don't suppose anyone could advise whether this route is more appropriate/legitimate and what sort of fee's might be applicable?0 -
Good luck dip86, I'll post the links for you to simplify things;

And as you bought it up, Nissans are considerably more reliable than Astons if you use them on a day-to-day basis, and a GT-R will annihilate a DBS (for example) both for market price, speed and handling (based on Nurburgring times), reliability, repair costs and fuel economy.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Alot of snobbery around about TV's , my tesco tecknika 32" is constantly remarked on for its picture quality. A £199 bargain and wish I could have brought another !
Each to there own but unless you live with a TV you can't really comment on it.0
