Being a keen reader of your thread though Emily, I think we'll all be looking at you for inspiration. And how do you get so lucky with those competitions....I am doing loads and have so far won....5 itunes!January budget

How long have you been doing the competitions for? Sometimes the prizes take a while to come through as it takes the promoters a bit of time to send them to you or even let you know you have won. I do a lot of competitions, probably around 100 postal comps a week and about 50 internet comps a day, not to mention text and phone comps.
I just love getting prizes though, it's so exciting!!
Keep at it and you will win some stuff eventually.0 -
Hey guys, I have had an idea for a prize for the winner - I used to work for a wine dealers and when I left, got a couple of cases of champagne at cost - I'd be happy to offer a bottle as a prize to the winner. What do you think? not sure if it's allowed and don't want to get in to trouble, but it would be such a nice treat for the winner. (I could post it out free from work).
dunno where I'm getting the money from, but dammit I will somehow - ebay here i come.

That's a lovely idea and a very kind gesture.
I'm sure that by the time a winner is found I would have received some sort of prize that I can put in for the winner too as an incentive (a DVD, CD or maybe one of the many bottles of cranberry juice that I'm about to receive :rotfl: ). Or maybe we could use your prize for the winner and I could offer something for the runner-up to keep the incentive going?0 -

Hello,
Not sure if you've room for another small one? Do you still need a 10th member?
I have a Barclaycard debt of £1099 that I am dying to clear as soon as possible. I know I won't be the fastest, but I'd love to be involved.
I plan to pay it off quickly by:-
In my spare bank account, I currently have saved:-
* Amazon £49
* Babysitting £20
* Take a Break £50
* Spare £1
= £120
To come/ideas...
* Mystery shopping (£20 confirmed next month)
* Mo-pay (£45 to come)
* Amazon (£5 to come next month)
* Quidco (£63 to come and another £100 odd to track)
* Car Boot/eBay (£50 profit - v. hopeful!)
* Babysitting locally (£25 a month - unconfirmed)
* Leaflet delivery every month (£20 a month - unconfirmed)
I think I will make this an extra challenge for myself by only paying my salary contribution to my debt off my overdraft - then the £1099 debt is being paid off from all the extras that I'm doing (as above).
Don't worry if you've no room for me, but if you do, I'd love to be involved - things like this really help to keep me motivated.
scottishspendaholic xMBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
Bank of Scotland = £2,782.830 -

Hello scottishspendaholic
I will make an exception for you as you were so kind to me when I was raising money for the baby unit in memory of my little nephew Joshua.
I think we are still at 9 members at the moment as lyric_grace hasn't responded to my invitation yet so feel free to join even if you are one extra. It wouldn't be the same without you

Thanks Emily - yay *off to update my signature*!

ehallett wrote:My main ways of winning this challenge are going to be:
Doing AQA when I can.
Mystery shopping (although I can't do as much of this at the moment due to not being well).
Ebaying various bits and bobs
Competition prizes.
I do warn you all I have been getting quite a few good prizes recently. I won a Nintendo DS and game which I sold for £70.
I also won a mobile phone over the weekend which I actually kept but if I had sold it then I would have got about £150 for it ( I know I could have sold it and paid off some debt but it is really nice and I needed a treat to cheer me up).
I also received a letter on Monday to say that I have won 3 giant garden games and a year supply of Ocean Spray juice!! The games look brilliant so I can't wait for them to arrive. One of them is connect 4 and I've looked on a website and it is worth £180!! I might actually sell this and the other 2 and hopefully get £150+ for them
Keep the ideas coming everyone.
Well frankly I think you ought to be disqualified for being too darn industrious!! PS I love cranberry juice!!
Argh how can I compete against the great Emily...!"Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0
