Well, your advice after the fact, is hardly going to help either, or were you trying to make a snide remark to the OP? I don't think you are that nasty.......0 -
I am suffering a similar problem and come across this forum.
I signed up with CYDUK when thehy were called CLEAR YOUR DEBT UK back in March 2009. They have since changed names to CYDUK, CYD Revolution and they are now called Refresh Financial Solutions and their website can be found on google. (As a new user I cannot post a link)
They have always been efficient at answering the phone but over the last two months, they have become very poor. I am apparently at a stage where the case is with their solicitors for a succesful claim and I have been in that position for well over six months.
I am now demanding updates and nobody answers their phones except for one occasion last Thursday when I spoke to a chap called Ali who promised to send me something within 30 minutes via e-mail and did not. Since then, I have called them and nobody has answered.
Should I fear the worst and accept that this company has gone bust? I paid for my financial plans with them on credit card and debit card. Do I have any rights comeback or should I hangfire and get confirmation of the company going bust?0 -
...Should I fear the worst and accept that this company has gone bust?...
However, as can be seen from the companies house database, there is an application to strike off the company.
Therefore act quickly and if appopriate, register that you are a current creditor of the company.
I think you can also raise an objection to the proposal with Companies House. Do that, because as I understand it, once they are struck off, they no longer exist ... and nor will your money."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Seems a bit odd all these people who can afford to hand over thousands to dodgy claims companies, but seem unwilling to pay the people they borrowed the money from. Just my thoughts and I will probably get hammered for mentioning it.0

I'll get the nails as well0 -
The company has NOT gone bust. If it does, it will be shown on the companies house database.

Premier,
Thanks for your prompt and constructive reply.
When you say I should act quickly, do you mean that I also demand my money back via a letter sent recorded delivery or do I need to only contact companies house?
How do I register as a creditor?
Many Thanks again0 -

I'm not sure what exactly you need to do. Perhaps someone else could help.
However, the first thing I would do is a get a copy of the notice that proposes to strike off the company. That's either from the London Gazette (they seem to charge now online, but perhaps you might be able to get a copy from your library) or perhaps buy the copy of the proposal from companies house (£1.00) and see what it says. I'm not sure if the companies house have the actual notice or just a record that one has been made.
Unless the notice says otherwise, afaik, you then object to the company about their proposal (but a copy to companies house quoting their registration number would be worthwhile too).
And yes, the reason for the objection is that they owe you money, the money you paid them for services which they haven't provided ... and presumably never will since they have ceased trading.
But ceasing trading doesn't mean they are not sitting on a pot of gold.
As with any debtor, what you need to establish is what size is that pot before deciding how much more than a simple request in writing to them are you prepared to go to in trying to recover your money.
But start with a simple letter. Who knows, they may send you your money by return?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Thanks for your help again Prmeier.
Right, some positive(ish) news
The compaby that you have referred to above is CYD UK Ltd and its company registration number is 06437548.
On their latest website using the trading name Refresh Financial Solutions, they state at the bottom that it is the trading name of CYD Insurance Services Ltd and the company registration number is 06667912. On the companies house databse, this is not shown as proposed to be struck off and has the most upto date account out of all the companies.
As they are still not answering the phone, I guess my best bet is a recorded delivery letter and failing that, I should contact the MOJ?0 -
Still no takers on actually paying money to the credit card and laon companies then, apart from ILW.0
