We have handed over a large sum of money to CYD and was told that they would clear any outstanding depts ( credit cards and loans) from before 2007.
They are registered with the ministry of justice but now I cannot get hold of anyone.
Do you know anything about this company or have I been ripped off? There web address is CYDREVOLUTION.COM The company name is CYD Revolution or CYD UK LTD. Registation number CRM 12549

I have checked the MOJ web site with the number you have given and nothing comes up. But before we jump to conclusions we need to know more information.

My advice is to contact the Ministry of Justice immediately to check it out in case the number is slightly wrong>

Do you have their address?

Do you have a contact name?

Do you have a contact number?

How much did you pay?

Did you pay by credit card? if you did there may be some recourse here.

How long ago did you pay for this service?

You need to deal with this quickly and respond ASAP.

The company (highlighted) has a company registration number 06437548.
This company was until June 2009 known as ULUS (UK) LIMITED.

Whilst the company is still active, the last accounts up to 30-Nov-2008 described the company as DORMANT so shouldn't have been trading before this time. Furthermore there has been a recent proposal posted in the london gazette to strike off this company.

So if this really was the company you paid money to, you need to act fast.

The date we paid was approx the 27 Nov last year. I did pay by credit card so is there anything that can be done there? or have I left it to late?

I cant belive I have been stung like this, I know its my own fault and I never usally fall for this but everything I checked out seemed ok.

The sum of money i handed over was £2727.51.

I have spoken to the credit card people and need to send them all the info terms and conditions I have. I also have a response from the MOJ to my email, it is as follows....

The contents of your email are noted. We are aware that there is a proposal to strike the company off at Companies House. Although this is not a good sign, it does not necessarily mean that the business is insolvent or will become so. The business is still authorised at present and I suggest that you write a recorded delivery letter to the business. In your state exactly what it is that you require from them. In your letter, give the business 14 days in which to respond. Should you receive no response or an unsatisfactory answer to your queries, please contact the Unit again.

Shall I ask for a full refund or shall I ask them to carry out the service they offered. Once again thanks for your Help.

As there is a proposal to strike off, do not delay hoping they will provide a service you ordered ... get your money back now! (and give that to your crediitors as a partial settlement)

I fully agree with Premier, ask for your money back and be very firm about it.

Did you see the One Show last night on Cartel they are another claims managment company that went down big time very recently and took about £20million from peeps with promises that they did not keep and could not keep. Because of the clever accounting no one will get a penny back. Also, no one has ever received any money back either.

Let us know how you get on.

You might have considered handing over 'a large sum of money' to the credit card and loan companies to pay off some of what you owe them rather than this pie in the sky attempt at wriggling out of it. As you have seen it is biting you on the backside.
