Did anyone post the Thai Yellow Curry and I missed it? I REALLY want to try it.
Have eventually persuaded Hubby to try the mushy pea curry so hopefully he will make it after shopping tomorrow and it will be waiting for me when I get home from work. My only worry is its supposed to be syn free but I know how hubby cooks things [olive oil]. I have written the recipe down for him and just hope he follows it :p.

    Food today

    B - weetabix [bs] milk [a] coffee

L - pasta, toms, cue, new pots, beans, fat free dressing, babybel [a], muller

T - new pots, beans, egg, toms

Snacks - banana, pineapple, bottle water

Syns - nothing again, will force myself to eat something later [maybe]:o Having a bag of mccoys as I type [8syns]

Have noticed the forum will be down tomorrow so what will we do??????????? How will we cope?????? lol
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    For the yellow curry paste:
1-2 green chillies, deseeded & finely sliced
    2 shallots, finely chopped
1in/2.5cm piece fresh root ginger, grated
    4 garlic cloves, crushed

    1 tsp ground cumin
    1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    3 tbsp dark soy sauce
    1 tsp tumeric
    1/4 tsp artificial sweetener
4 kaffir lime leaves, snipped into small pieces (discarding the central stem)

1 lemon grass stalk, finely chopped

Recovering Spendaholic - you should eat enough at each meal to fill you. That is, not to be overfull, but not to still be hungry either.

You know, I think we overweight people don't have the 'full-up button' that naturally slim people have and therefore don't always realise that we have had enough until suddenly we realise that we've actually had too much.

The only way I know to make this a little easier to recognise is to slow down the eating. Try to remember to sit back a little between mouthfuls and relish what you are tasting. If you eat with others, make a point of talking a lot (Mum would say that was bad mannered, lol) because the more you talk, the less quickly you eat.

However, you can eat large amounts, especially if you make it free foods, and still lose weight - I am proof of that. I have a huge appetite and I have lost well with Food Optimising, originally on the Green plan, and lately on the Extra Easy one. It's something you will have to watch all your life because if you don't make healthy eating a habit, the weight will creep back on.

I have a large lady in my group - she was very shy when she joined and quite obviously wished the ground would open up and swallow her when she got weighed, but I can honestly say, no-one was shocked or disgusted with her, she's one of us, we all share a common goal and I'm really delighted that she's lost 4 stone since January and has begun to join in with the general banter in group. She's won the fruit basket almost every week since she started and everyone is rooting for her so don't be embarrassed to go to a group.....IMO it's far and away the best way to see regular, sustained weight loss.

Hi Lynzpower and welcome :D Do you already follow food optimising or are you about to?

    Hello :o

    No I dont, not yet.

My sister is a SW consultant, she has done ever so well in the last year. She lives in the north though. She has given me the green book of food optimising, and she also is going to give me the password, I said Id pay her the weekly amount but at the moment she doesnt want it.

I dont have much to lose tbh, I am a 10-12 at the mo should really be an 8-10, in one box into overweight on the chart at the drs, 9stone 12 ( monday)

I am on the depo provera as of monday and Im convinced IM going to pile it on. I woke up this morning totally craving junk. And thats roughly all ive eaten all day ( OH is not coming home tonight so no need to cook etc):eek:

Because Ive been threatening to start this for a few weeks, Ive been running the cupboards down and removing the high syn stuff totally ( the MWSErs in me cant bear to bin it without it being used :( ) so Im trying as hard as I can to get rid of some of these things in the house ( eg sausages, cheese, pastry!) and get ready to start on monday with a new meal plan that Ive specifically shopped for.

Does that sound OK ? To be fair most of the things that people eat on Extra easy I have anyway ( eg no jarred sauce, no convenience food) its the crisps and peanut butter and pastry that are the main reason Im porky.:eek::eek: I was going to the gym but I have a hand problem now so I cancelled it as the equipment was too painful to use :(

Anyway thats me, in a nutshell, will try to keep up with the posts.

Does anyone do a full meal plan ( is there one on line anywhere) for a week?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

LynzP, you could always get the SW magazine. It has a seven day plan in and most of the meals are storecupboard stuff - nothing fancy or expensive to buy.

Follow a plan exactly, for a week and you'll see a difference, not only in your weight, but I think you should feel more energetic and altogether healthier too.

    Good luck!

  • Evening All,

Well not a great day for me to stick to the plan 100% as I have been asleep most of it after coming off nights. I have mainly been picking at things which I know is not good for me.

B - I had a lemon hi fi bar when I woke up at 1400- HEB
    Snack - 3 x mini babybel light - HEA
D - I made the SW quiche with brocolli, salmon and dill it was very nice and I had this with salad
Syns - Weight watchers mini magnum type thing (they are two ww points) does anyone know what their syn value is?
Another hi fi bar, 5.5 Syns

I intend to have some fruit before I go to bed and something to drink as I have only had a diet coke all day.

100% day and jog tomorrow is in order

Slimming world Restart 29/08/11 weight unknown?? 46 days until I go home :j
  • Thanks for the advice on portions everyone! I think that I do eat past the "full" button but I am not worrying too much about it (or trying not to).

    Food today has been:

Breakfast - 42g all bran (heb), banana, 28g sultanas (4 syns), ss milk (hea)

Lunch - leftover hm chilli from last night with half a pack of savoury rice

Snack - cottage cheese mixed with a chopped apple

Dinner - 3 chicken thigh fillets done on the George Foreman, hm new potato salad (5 syns for the dressing) lettuce and tomato, Mandarin Mullerlight

I am dubious that I will lose weight though - it seems like too much food.....

Good luck to anyone weighing in tonight!
