Have you checked the thomas cook website, if you haven't sold your computer? My flight tomorrow has been cancelled, I was booked with easy jet and they have updated their FAQs frequently and also have a link with a list of cancelled flights. When requesting the refund they ask you to update copies of reciepts relating to the trip. So if we had a hotel booked then we could have uploaded that and got a refund for that. There were sections for accomadation, car, food and drink and something else.0

Hi there, hopefully this will of cleared by your holiday, I had a booking for low cost beds and unfortunatley they are not refunding or changing dates of any hotel bookings, £350 down the drain as Direct Travel insurance do not cover us either! Should your flight be cancelled you will be refunded or change dates, not sure about your car parking.
Sorry to hear youve lost £350, thats a lot of cash to loose.
im not to fussed about the car parking and hotel, both together was £75, which is the same cost as the excess. No point paying out £75 to get £75 back. To think i almost booked prebookable seating last weekend for £90, but thought id wait a week or too. All top guantee we were all sat together and got to choose our seats no i dont care where we sit on a plane as long as were on one.
I booked them both through TC too, so if the previous poster is right, it shoud make things a bit easier to try and get them refunded. ETS previous poster was talking about easyjet not TC.
Would be a lot easier if there was 1 rule for everything, that way everyoone would know where they stand.
(no i havent sold my computer, wouldnt even consider it):TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Yes i have checked thomas cooks website it has very little info on any thing. Just that flights are cancelled till monday and numbers for people to ring if their flight is cancelled. I got confused then i thought you were a thomas cook customer so went of to have another look thinking i had missed something, still couldnt find what you were talking about and then realised you were talking about easy jet and how they are dealing with things.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I better sell my car, again i am insured but OMG i dont think i have any money saved to pay the excess should we have an accident or should some uninsured driver run us off the road again.
In fact i think i'll just not bother getting out of bed tommorrow - just in case.
That doesn't follow on from my post at all but don't let it worry you!
Anyway, hope you get your holiday sorted.0 -

No we're arent covered on the insurance but if our flight is cancelled by the tour operator we are entitled to a full refund. But we wouldnt know that is was cancelled until maybe at the earliest the day before, we couldnt cancel now as we would loose our money, (so if your thinking of cancelling now DONT) which seems a little daft to me as we could book somewhere in the UK now for that week and save a load of hassle. But we have to wait until the day we are due to go to cancel and then we'll probably just sit at home for a week, but it could eb al ot worse i guess.
I also asked what would happen if we were stranded as we werent going to an EU country and she said it didnt matter where we were going we are thomas cooks responsibility and they would look after us - we wouldnt end up sleeping on the beach or rummaging through dustbins to feed ourselves she said.
At present most people stranded are staying in the accomadation they are already in as there is obviously no rush for them to vacate as there are no new guests going in to the hotels.
I mentioned that we were 4* all inclusive and shoud TC find us aterative accomodation in a B&B for example would TC pay food expenses, to which she repled its a case by case basis as there is NO set policy for it as yet, so this might change over the next few days/weeks.
So its looks a little better, we can over the next few weeks save a little extra just in case we have to pay for extra food.
Thats a really good point you raised, you've booked all-in, I don't mean to sound selfish to anyone as I'm one of the "never got to go". I was meant to fly to Cuba Friday, a holiday of a lifetime.........
If I go all-in, I take some money for trips and souveniers and £100 emergency, but that wouldn't cover me for much....... yes I have credit cards but there quite full, bar the lovely Vanquis card at 59.95% apr, and they won't authorise a transaction unless its chip and pin, (whereas most hotels / reps booking trips (esp in Tunisia) use the old fashioned swipe system.
We're due to go to Tunisia end of June, was meant to go for Easter but dd came down with chicken pox 2 days b4 we were due to fly....... thats being claimed on insurance, booked for June (depoist on credit card), and hope the ins pays out asap.... luckly rebooked before the Iceland sagaxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Could you go into one of their branches? It mentions on the website if you booked through the branch then call in but I'm sure they could give you advice on what they would cover0

Ok so I rang my insurance , I'm Not covered fir this act of god even though there is nothing mention on the exclusions. Because it isn't mentioned in the section of what is covered i'm not.
Woman on the phone I would stand a better chance if I broke my leg. To which I replied but surely that would be classed as an act of god to. Her reply, we cover those acts of god.
So I then rang Thomas cook again. Regardless of time scale Thomas cook will refund me my holiday. With regards to everyything else they couldn't say. At present all hotels except the marriot are issuing refunds. We would have to wait till nearer the time to find out if this changes.
I asked if we could rebook now for a week layer at which point she said that's not a problem for us but you'd loose your deposit and its more expensive. So we have to wait for a possible phonecall nearer the time.
All we can do now is wait and see.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

Thanks for that Drea- sorry you've lost out too, when was your flight for, is it really too late for you, thats awful.
Like you we stand to lose about £350 which we can ill afford - just hoping we may still be able to go. I had stuipidly thought they (Sunshine Hols/Lo Cost beds) might at least offer to change to apartment booking date, but think this is really unfair of them.
Its taught me a few things to look out for in the future - possibly make sure it's a proper package, plus cancel my rubbish Insure and Go annual policy at renewal, and go with Direct Line, Post Office or Fortis. Its times like these you really find out which are the best most helpful companies who aren't trying to rip you off.
When this is all over, it would be great to have a list of the good and bad companiies, so we can all move our business for the future.
At least I feel lucky I wasn't stranded abroad, Best of luck to everyone who are still trying to get home.0 -

Hi again, I got on to the hotel direct today and now have in writing that Low cost beds have not even paid the accomodation, they only do so when customer has arrived and checked in! Spoke again with Low cost who will not budge, I asked some obviously awkward questions so got hung up on 3 times by foreign operator!! It really does show that we should look into insurance etc before hand, exensive lesson!
Worst part is Hotel have confirmed they would amend if accomodation had been paid. I cant go now, we were due to fly out at 4am Friday to faro, next flight with Ryanair is Friday:(. Hoping to get out in May instead at latest as I am pregnant so cant travel any later!:money: giving me & my darling boys a better cheaper life
