I wouldnt trust me with a credit card, lol. I prefer not to have the temptation.
I have just spoke to my mum and they have cash sat asside for their own holday which they are going on 4 weeks after we get back should we need it we can borrow it.
then she asked if they were covered, which she isnt as her holiday was booked through a travel agent but every part of it is booked seperately, so she's going to get onto that tommorrow and doubke check.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Princesswoo, I'm glad you're feeling better now you've found out where you stand.
Am I right in thinking they told you that you would get a refund for you're whole holiday (flights & hotel) or would it just be the flights? Its just that i've heard that there would be no refunds for the hotel part of the holiday as the hotel has kept their side of the deal.Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it ....... just pee on it and walk away.0 -
I wish I had an answer to that one. I know it's easy to say get one but no always an option and for some people could end up in all sorts of debt if they did get one. The current situation is unique and people are having to think about things they've never needed to before. If I book a holiday I usually sort the insurance much later but in furure will arrange insurance as soon as I book a holiday.
We have booked to go away in July, it cost over £2K for the 5 of us.
Guess who didn't get insurance? We always do, but we normally get it about a month before we travel.
We booked with First Choice so we should be Ok if we are delayed or the flights are cancelled.
We never take any extra money with us when we go away, but I know my family are at hand if we needed bailing out in an emergency.
I just don't like the idea of having a CC available just incase ~ especially as it's so easy to spend on them when you don't need to.
That's why I'm glad I can't get one!

We booked a package holiday - so we would get a full refund of our £1900, but we have to wait for the tour operator to cancel the holiday, so we wont know wheter or not we are going or not till the day or maybe the day before.
Its only those who have booked flights and hotels seperately that will have problems but best to ask elsewhere as i dont know anything about that.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

We Also never book travel insurance till a few weeks before flying, never thought about needing to use it till we were out there. Only booked out insurance this time as it was easier to book it when we got the holiday.

Given the problems that an awful lot of posters are currently facing I find this question in very poor taste.0 -

Please do not think about implications solely based on current events. Travel insurance should always be in place at the same time that any travel plans are made.
In the case of the above two posters (and I know that you are far from alone) have you thought where you would have stood if, for example, you or one of your travelling party fell seriously ill several weeks before the intended date of travel and you were unable to go?0 -

In all honesty it never crossed my mind. mainly because we usually book short notice but this holiday has been booked for 8 months.
Tavels operators always stress the benefits of the cover for WHEN your on holiday and none of the benifits it will cover you for should something happen before you go.
It has never ever crossed my mind beforehand, but i learn something new every day and i promise never to not book insurance till the last minute ever again.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

If one of the travelling party fell seriously ill, the holiday would be the furthest thing from our minds.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
