            Hi all,
I've got the first week of May off and wanted to book a last minute holiday. Should I just go ahead as if I book a package the agent would refund me if the flights are cancelled?
Or should I just give up and resign myself to losing a weeks annual leave?0 -
I'll be checking if my insurance covers me tommorrow, when i fiind out the correct number to ring.
If they do cover me for example and our holiday is cancelled, would we get a refund from thomas cook and still be able to claim through the insurance or it is one or the other.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

Can anyone give me some advice please - I only just booked a holiday to Madeira with Sunshine holidays - flight and hotel, not a package. We have paid all the money, due to go 30 April.
The flight is with thomsons and the apartment is self catering from them thro Lowcost beds.
We had already annual holiday insurance with Insure and Go, who I think are not covering anything to do with this situation.
Is it too late to cancel our holiday and would we get any refund at all? I did not want to clog up phones ringing Sunshine, when we are not due to until Friday week. Also we have booked and paid for carpark at Gatwick with airparks though AA.
Any advice would be much appreciated thanks.0 -

If you got refunded through TC - what would you be looking to claim through your insurance?0 -
We have other things booked like a hire car to get us to and from the airport, hotel on our return as we dont get back till really late and it would have been a seriusly long day travelling, so we decided to stay over and drive back in the morning.
I have no idea how insurance works for travel or anything else as i have never had to make a claim.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Best advice...get down the shops, get plenty of bread for the freezer, and some tinned goods.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

You would have to claim the package cost back from TC - Then an Insurance claim would hopefully pay for your incidentals, car hire excursions costs etc... Not sure if they would pay your hotel in the UK
Who are your insurers out of curiosity?

            Wake up? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We can't get a credit card, so who is to say the OP can get one?
When we go on holiday, we pay for the holiday and take our spends, that's it. When the spends have been spent, that's it!
Should we all not go on holiday if we haven't got a few hundred quid sat somewhere 'just incase'?
Actually, i wouldn't want to be in a foreign country with 3 young children and nothing but my holiday spends. Sounds seriously irresponsible to me!0 -
Ohh - I have read that most of AXA's policies are not paying out - Im not sure which stance TC insurance are taking
Hopefully you will be in luck.........Anyway fair way to go yet til you travel, all this is changing every day x0
