I am aware of that but it doesn't really matter does it considering the point has be clarified for you and that BG haven't conned Cardew into not being able to switch!
But that wasnt clarified until after you made your post was it?
I know you are getting defensive because you work for BG, I also know Nick Griffin gets defensive when people attack the BNP - Doesnt mean I agree with it.
Anyway, it looks like blindmouse has been able to get around this issue so it may be worth Cardew contacting Ovo again to see if there is a work around.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Strange you should say that!
I had left a message some days previously but had no reply.
When I rang OVO again the girl dealing with new customers said she was pretty certain they couldn't handle 2 readings, however she gave me another number and the person dealing with these issues confirmed what the first person had told me and further informed me that a new meter would be required at a cost of around £150.
Anyway I have just had a call from another OVO employee who has informed me that they do have a 'work around' so it seems I am OVO bound0 -
I'm waiting for a letter from BG to tell me what they're offering, but so far nothing!
I'll look into OVO, it does seem a good deal if I can get it here!0 -
Anyone considered the EDF 2015 fixed deal?
21.5p for 1st 225 kw per quarter then 12.78.
Not cheapest by any means but you get another 5 year fix. If the last 5 years with BG is anything to go by it could give long term price protection again....0 -
It will be all the better when BG offer their employee's the 10 year fix at websaver 7 prices.
Ill be first at the door.
However off to EDF at the moment with Cashback. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
Hmmmm
I keep seeing references to websaver 7. I am still on click 6 - should I be asking to be moved to WS7?
I hate BG with a passion for their smoke and mirrors online tariffs - I've never heard of OVO, so will also look into this, thanks.
DaisyI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Bump!
Just surprised noone who's been on BG's 5 year fix is looking at EDF's 5 year fix. Any views?0 -

I think many of us have looked at it, shuddered and then dismissed it!!
For someone on the UK average consumption of 20,500kWh gas and 3,300kWh electricity the cheapest tariff in my area(Midlands) is with Eon at £860.
The EDF 5 year fix is £1,264. So £404 pa more(47%). The Eon tariff is fixed to July 2011 so you will have paid best part of £500 extra by then if you went with EDF
Someone would have to take a very pessimistic view of future energy prices to believe that prices are going double or more by 2015 which they would need to if you were even to break even.
The beauty of the BG tariff that just finished was that it carried no premium for dual fuel standard tariff customers(there were other companies with cheaper tariffs) and within a year or so was the cheapest tariff on the market.0 -
Has anyone actually switched from PP 2010 to Websaver7? I had a go last night and BG wanted £15 for leaving the PP2010 scheme early - 45 mins short of five years! I suppose today I am now on the new 2-year PP plan. I shall try to switch to Websaver7 in a few mins....
No probs, I had to tick the box to pay a penalty charge but the charge is zero (apparently). So now I'm Web7'ed.0 -
I have also joined websaver 7. [which is 34% higher than the 5 year deal we were on...Didn,t we do well over these 5 years?, especially a couple of years back when bills were even higher].I have also signed up via Topcashback hoping for the £50 as it does say the offer is for new and existing customers].I also gave them accurate readings while on website to make sure my next bill is fair,as that extra cold winter meant I used a lot more juice this March/April.0
