Seriously, can anyone say when things will be ''back to norma''l?. My fabric comes in by boat and lorry so no worried there but I do need to get my export orders delivered (so I can be paid) and, in fashion, it's all done by air freight.0 -
I suppose it's just a coincidence that there hasn't been a cloud in the sky for about three days now, where I am:

I'm having a very big arty next weekend, have to say I'm a bit panicked, not about food supplies in general, but that things will have sold out for my planned menu...planned aaround various eating restrictions of guests.
edit: not really wrioied about food, we're coming into our own most abundant season, its not like we''l go hungry if it didn't life for months, just seasonal home grown.
My main worry for next weekend is avocados!0 -

Lidl still has loads, but instead of 29p they are now 59p
Can anyone answer me why panic buying always seems to involve toilet paper? Does the world run on loo roll?0 -

The people who I feel sorriest for are those short-haul air crew who kissed their kids goodbye before they left for work on Thursday morning and haven't been home yet. The effect on passengers is dreadful, the effect on airlines is horrible, but imagine not being able to get home for your kids, that must be terrible. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Its not only airline crew who cant get home to their kids, but I'm sure they will cope. There are many sick and disabled people stranded abroad who have to rely on others for help. It cant be easy for them.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Volcano chaos could continue for months
"The grounding of all flights has already cost the British economy at least £920 million, with losses set to rise at the rate of £230m for every day of further disruption. The airline industry alone will have lost an estimated £520 million by the end of today, with losses of £130m for every day of disruption."
I know one chap, went skiing in Canada for Easter and broke his collar bone. He's been stuck in a hotel out there, in pain, can't get home...
I predict a riot!:dance:0 -

I agree. I just think it must be horrible to leave for work in the morning and not get home again. Re the sick and disabled, I was once one of 140 stranded British pax in Greece. As a group, it was very democratic, we all agreed to give up our seats so that first the people who were ill (we had one who'd run out of heart meds for example) could get home, then those with children. As they left, they left their drachmas in the central fund to buy the rest of us food. They also left their mats and lilos for us to sleep on as the floors were hard. It's a horrible situation to be in and wish everyone luck in getting home. I know that we have "rights" but sometimes you can't access them until you get back and in the meantime its very easy to run out of money. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
