My broadband switched to TTtoday, a day early, than the go live sate, and my speed according to adslguide.org is 5.5mbp/s, which is the same as I had on Nildram.
P2P speeds are looking about the same too (100kbp/s on LimeWire)
maybe I'm a lucky one! lol0 -
Been looking around and Tiscili look a decent price think its 2mb (which is the quickest in my area) for £14.99.
Anyone had experience with these?0 -
Tiscili and TalkTalk are the two worst broadband providers, both should be avoided. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

Its looking like Pipex for broadband and Onetel for line rental.
Onetel - £9.99 line rental and free weekend call (although I won't be using the phone)
Pipex - £14.99 for upto 8mb (they said I can get 6mb on my line) 2GB limit which is enough for what I use the net for.
Any thoughts?0 -
OneTel - don't do it!
It's now part of TalkTalk, plus you really should only consider BT as your line rental provider. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Caller Display is free with BT, it is £1.50 per month extra with TalkTalk making their service dearer, you save very very little with talktalk.
You are much better off with BT for line rental, free caller display, then for no monthly charge Primus 2 for free evening and weekend calls, and then 1899 for the daytime calls at 3 pence each.
You can't sign up to OneTel anymore, it's now TalkTalk, signing up to TalkTalk will work out dearer than what you can get elsewhere, and compared to BT it is only minutely cheaper and then only if you make sure you avoid certain phone numbers. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Thanks Bex.
Just been OneTel site and we can resign for them for £9.99 with caller ID free. We don't plan to call from the phone at all. We won't even be plugging a phone in. We both work in the day and for evening/weekend calls we can use my mobile, which I get free calls on.0 -
What about the offer with Namesco?
It's £60 for 12 months and you get a free modem.
Is it any good?

Yeah thats pretty good deal. But think I would rather pay that little bit extra for a 2MB connection rather than a 512k.
Thanks anyway0
