The BBQ was really good fun. I really should buy some soups from Tesco as I like them and they have microwaves available at each site so could heat them up... Just need to be more organised.
Travel time is fab and yeah hopefully my total petrol costs will end up being covered by work due to the generous mileage rate!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Tescos have had the nice soups on offer recently, I think they were 99p for a carton and could last two meals. I sometimes buy some although TBH OH is very good at making a big batch of soup every week which means my lunch is sorted. I am back on the packed lunch wagon, helps as kids have pack up meals three times a week so it is just part of the process. Leaving my cards at home helps as well as I have nothing to spend to buy anymore food!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

hi lhb glad you found me
New job is working really well so far. Home for 5pm today.
DS had to take DD to school today as OH had to go to work to deal with a crisis but it went okay. He brought her home tonight today too. That saved us £11.50 - of which I give the kids 50p each. DS is now 12 and pretty mature. DD is almost 7. We could potentially get him to pick her up more often and save more money that way but I don't want to overload him... I am keeping it under revew tho....
Well I had soup the last 2 days so saved a little on lunches. My DS is going to a theme park tomorrow tho on a youth trip - and I have just been theoretically to pick up some bits for packed lunch etc tomorrow.... £92 later!!!!!!!!! EEEEK It did include lots of fresh fruit and veg....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi SavingH,
I know how you feel about the shopping. Mine came to £117 this week. Nappies and formula really add up. I am thinking of investing in some cloth nappies to cut down on the cost.
I am delighted your new job is going wellTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thanks CMD - how was your trip away?
I took DD to Matalan yesterday and bought more clothes but am hopeful that some if it will be covered by birthday money for both of us.
I also had my hair done (coloured, cut and second colour blow dry and straightened ) for £52. Was pretty pleased with that. I went a darker base colour than normal and had some bright red foils put in. It looks pretty snazzy and I got lots of compliments at church this morning. The blue monsoon top that I bought last year also came in for some compliments - which definitely gave me a boost.
So lots of money going out a the moment, hopefully it will settle down again soon. DS did want to go to a concert next week but now he's changed his mind so I should get a fiver back from that.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi BTD and CSA
Glad I can make you chuckle! Yeah I am happy at the moment and it shows in a good way so that is good. I feel more relaxed about my job and am less scared things are all going to go wrong.
Have invited some family over next weekend to celebrate mine and DD's birthday - it will be interesting to see who turns up.
Have just been to the local park as a family plus DD's friend which was okay. Trying to persuade DS into a 5 mile bike ride in return for the ice cream he ate. He is still shattered from Alton Towers yesterday tho so have postponed the ride until tomorrow.
My parents have agreed to pay for DD's cycle helmet so that will be £15 coming back into the pot which is good too.
Nothing else moneywise to add at the mo... I need to find and send off my proof of no claims on my car insurance but nothing else really happening at the mo. Need to cancel my home insurance with last year's provider as I am moving it to take advantage of cashback.....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
