Whilst I am all for an honest bargain I think we should all consider the long term effects of continuous abuse from so many people. As a nation we are in terrible economic straits and whilst I honestly appreciate that for some of us we need to look to make our money go as far as possible. However how many companys can cope with the effects of basically having to give their stock away. Would it have the potential to finish an organisation...if so what about employees....I have been doing some soul searching and think we need to consider the long term effects of this type of stupidity....a little restraint could go a long way!!!!!

I wouldn't worry. Very is part of Littlewoods which is turning over a very healthy profit and is owned by the Barclay twins, who are worth £1.8 billion but don't pay any tax in the UK because they've registered their holding companies in Bermuda, Jersey, etc.

A little bit of money finding its way into the pockets of the British consumer instead of the pockets of these ultra-rich tax-dodging tycoons (the kind of people who got us into this mess in the first place) is no bad thing for the UK economy.

They let people use codes so they can charge them back at a later date when people have already used the items and cannot send them back, and now we know how they can be that rich....

I'd be really, really careful - not only can they recoup the amount of any coupon you've used, they can also then take away any earlier discounts you've had via codes and ask for the money back, and also take away codes which were allowing you a buy now pay later - which in my case right now would be a real problem as I have about £300 on BNPL!

I want to enjoy it but is this the company that asks for the money at a later date?:o(I'm a scaredy cat can you tell?:rotfl:)

It's part of that group, yes. littlewoods, empire stores, very, marshall ward etc. so the warnings on this site will apply.

Having read this thread through I've decided not to order, because I used a £20 off £50 code that they posted to me last week, and am already wearing the shoes I bought. I don't want the company to charge me that extra £20, which it seems they might even though they sent me the code themselves.

I put an order through last night for £10, and used the free delivery option, so my verified by Mastercard came through to authorise £0. I checked the status of my order just now, and it's listed as "credit rejected"

Also, after finishing my order, it was confirmed as £0, and they would send an e-mail, but on checking my orders, it is showing an order of £10 with the free delivery. What probably happened is that I authorised my card to take £0, and they're trying to take £10 so with the extra security I went through, the card was probably declined as I didn't authorise £10 to be taken.

Just want to make sure that credit rejected does mean that the order is cancelled, as I wouldn't normally pay £10 for what I've ordered.

The other option is to go down the returns route if they insist on charging and delivering, as they do offer free returns within 14 days.

The only people that whinge about "forum police" are those that have done something stupid or against the rules of a forum and don't like being pulled up on it :)
The people that removed your post (not me) obviously thought it broke forum rules. Your childish attitude about it just makes you look a sad little person :)

I have no problem being pulled up when i do something wrong but what i do have a problem with are people on this board who treat others like they are imbeciles when they do something wrong and have a despicable attitude when getting their point across. Now wheres my rattle hahahaha
  • Strange - my order's showing as dispatched. I kind of wish I hadn't placed it now but hopefully I've gotten lucky and sailed under there radar. Fingers crossed.

I've had no call or cancellation either. I'm not bothered really, if they want to investigate fraud they can. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, i'll just pay the tenner and delivery if it is causing problems, it's really not the end of the world.
  • I ordered on Friday but cancelled online a few hours later after reading the rest of the thread. Received an email this morning saying I was too late and its already been sent !

    xx
  • Just want everyone to know that i received my £10 item today and according to my online account the £10 refund has gone back onto my card as of today!

So, it was a success after all!

Any others checked their online account today who placed an order?
