Never heard of it I'm afraid! Amazon sell groceries now, but some of the prices once the p&p is added don't really make it any cheaper.
There are Lidl stores opening on the island in the near future - we are waiting to see if they will be cheap as they are in the UK! There are also some cheap supermarkets such as the GB stores that sell branded stuff at better prices than elsewhere, but you do have to keep an eye on the sell by dates!
For the first few months you will continue to be horrified at the prices, but you do get used to the prices over here - you can easily buy branded stuff in most supermarkets. The prices are high, but the non branded stuff are also highly priced, so really it's similar to UK - if you are willing to pay a bit extra then you can buy branded stuff.
Remember that your first shop will be a big one as you will need all those household essentials which you usually have in the cupboard and just top up every now and again when you run out - it's a bit of a shock having to buy everything from scratch at prices more expensive than the UK!0 -
i tried POPlife the other day near limassol, decent prices on washing powder and other stuff, it does electicals, furniture and other stuff, we didn't buy much apart from 24 cans of pepsi for €6.40 which is really cheap, it is worth visit.:beer:0

Can anyone tell me if electric radiators are provided? We will be in a quarter without central heating but I dont like the idea of portable gas fires with two little children. Just wondering if we need to bring radiators with us.
Thanks.
Also, is the furniture generally a decent standard? and are the fridge freezers actual big fridge freezers or just under the counter type fridges with a little freezer compartment?0 -
Abijanzo Where are you posted? As far as I know the houses without radiatiors have 2 or 3 plug in radiators which are very efficient. You may also get a gas fire which is good for a quick warm through in a morning (I know not ideal with your children).
The fridges are tall fridges with a smallish freezer. Most people buy a second one second hand one for drinks onlyFurniture is fine but lots of people buy things second hand. there are groups set up which sell peoples things and so you can replace the issue furniture with other things if you want. HTH.
