ive just had a thought, is there a decent cinema nearby. My friend just reminded me ill be when the next twilight film is released (a bit patheic i know).

Akrotiri has a cinema, also there is one in limassol.

There used to be a bus to the cinema in Akrotiri, but I think due to cost cutting it no longer runs! The cinema in Limassol does the 3D effect films.

thank you :j, i will be checking that out when i get there. anyone think of anything i should bring that people forget- those little bits u dont think about till ur going through the suitcase while waiting for ur furniture

Pen and paper - really useful to have something to make notes with of what u need to by/ get done in quarter, and for all those phone numbers!! Take a toilet roll - you should get some sort of welcome pack but ours didn't have any toilet roll!!

Just to let you know the Cinema in Aki is open (Wed-Sun I think with a Sat matinee). There are 2 cinemas in Limassol and I know one at least shows all films in English and it is easy to get to.

I just wanted to say it's really nice to see so much help and advice here. I'd been a bit jaded with MSE because of all the arguing and nippy remarks that are all so often made on the boards, so it's refreshing to see nice people genuinely trying to help.

we have just found out we are moving to akrotiri in nov, we have 2 young boys who will be 34 months and 13 months when we move, im looking for advice on accomodation as i dont really want portable heaters with 2 young boys, what are the advantages/disadvantages of the housing and the areas plz before we put in our accom thing
