Morning All
Politics...I think I may be a 'better the devil you know' kinda girl! I turned 18 as the poll tax came in to being.... 'OK we're going to double your rates and then make everyone in the house pay it and if you don't you're going to jail......' is my lasting memory of the last Tory government - and don't get me started on the milk snatcher.......:rotfl: We live in a boom and bust economy and the labour government actually did well to keep it even for so long but with the b@lls up in the american market the rest of us stood no chance. My tuppence worth
Blue skies here again today - haven't been out to inspect for ash yet but if I find any that hasn't fell off the end of someones fag I shall let you know
I've kept today job free :j so I intend to [STRIKE]sit here and waste the morning[/STRIKE] do my housework in my PJs, do a cupboard/store check and meal plan and shopping list.
Lunch will be corned beef and onion toasties and dinner will involve sausages somewhere - possibly a sausage and vegetable stew in the SC as I have to take the step kids to their mums after school. By the time I've fought through the traffic I'll be fit for nothing!

Morning All :hello:,
Sunny and a Friday??? Yes please
Just found out my sister has got another week in Australia as they've cancelled her flight home until next Thursday due to the ash  Jealous? Moi?Although it does mean that she'll lose a weeks wages but it's a once in a lifetime trip. Don't know how my BIL is going to cope though getting the girls to two rural schools in totally opposite directions and getting to work himself... It's not like any of us can help either as they live down in Wiltshire.
Anyway, OS wise, DH played another blinder yesterday at Tescos and came back with masses of bargains (there never are any when I go so I'm leaving it to him from now on I've decided!) including a YS leg of lamb reduced to £6.50 and some delicious looking sirlion steaks reduced to £4! Think DH fancies the steak for tea tonight for his pre-birthday meal (I know - you'd think he was turning 7 not 47) so I'll griddle them, with chips, peas, mushrooms and onion rings for him and who knows I might even do an Eton Mess for dessert as it's his fave. Don't mind so long as it doesn't interfere with my watching Ashes to Ashes tonight :T am I the only fan on here?!?!?
Also have to pop to the meat market in my lunch hour as I've finally decided on a bbq for our do tomorrow. Which reminds me I better text my Dad and ask if we've any coals indoors!
Have a lovely day in sunshine, hugs to all xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

That's nothing, I somehow got it into my head that someone had said Thriftlady may be in touch with her, and sent a pm to T/L! Think I need to lie down, all this name confusion is making me feel very dizzy! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Morning all...........(((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one......
Friday clean, OH out to the veg garden. Goint to have a look at the washing basket see if I can get a laod in and dry.
Sunny but quite cool at the moment, yesterday turned into a real late spring day, warm and sunny.
We have decided what to do in the garden to protect our privacy when we are eating outside. I found two old metal line props which oh is going to sink into the ground, I have a piece of white willow arch shape, we will wire it to the metal oles and I am going to plant a fast growing clematis in front of it and allow it to scramble up over it. That should screen one of next doors kitchen wondows which looks directly into our garden. As the cottages had a right of way across the back the gardens are a bit peculiar in as much as our garden end half way between their two kitchen windows. If our fence went where it should we would have a very funny odd shaped garden. The right of way has been moved to the end of the garden, so we lost out there too.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
