Totally agree with the past decisions re freezer space SC, I’ve got a tub of ice cream for goodness sake 😆 but I think it still kind of crept up on most of us even though we did know it was coming, I didn’t think I was buying for potentially weeks if we chose to avoid the shops. Have you ordered form Riverford before? as they were not taking new customers but i had ordered in the past so they let me do so again, and although dear you can get fruit. It sure I’d fancy the frozen banana I have to say!The toilet roll fairy godmother has been to our house (driveway) tonight 😇 best friend unexpectedly left 24 loo rolls and 15 eggs she got tonight in Aldi, what a star! We are actually doing well loo roll wise so I will see if we can forward a couple on, dh needs some for work too.Stated looking at the finances tonight and then got distracted. Also found out that mine and ds2’s pay has been stopped from last week, I stupidly assumed we would get paid this week too as it’s payday this week. ☹️ Still it will be zero next month!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Agree the frozen banana doesn't sound very appetising, but it's to go in milkshakes with the other frozen fruit - was very excited to discover that the internet was correct and you can snap it into smaller pieces 😀! Where would we be without Google in our lives???
Never considered Riverford - have just browsed their website 😮😮😮 at the prices! Fortunately for me they're not taking orders from new customers, but that's probably way too much for just me to get through anyway. However they're within reach for a midnight jaunt so I may be reccying their security arrangements should things get really desperate 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Oh I didn’t know oh I didn’t know you lived that way! Very nice 😊 Yes the prices are 😱😱 I tried them previously in the old style days after seeing people raving about them, great company but in a big household an expensive way to shop. I’m so relived we are able to use them now though or we would be really struggling.
Finally got a reply from the local cake shop which are delivering flour, £30 spent on 8 bags bread flour, 2 of self raising and two bags of sugar, again dear but we now have bread as the bakers has shut and I can’t get through for delivery 🙂
Dh at work today and I’m going to keep busy :
Do finances
Go through dds room and do all washing in basket and pack up to be left on doorstep when dh goes past in way to work sat 😢 plus some food bits
Ring all relatives and see how they are for suppliesDo all other washing
Use up chewy old cornflakes to make cornflake cakes with syrupMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
Well "within reach" may mean different things to different people - remember in normal circs I make at least one 4+ hour round trip every week for much less reward than some organic veg 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

A small riverford fruit box would last us for a good three weeks from experience. But you can’t get anything except your regular order at the moment anyway - option is have it or don’t, no swapping. Which is fine, but I’d love some more fruit! And don’t really want supermarket delivery fruit (we have a spot booked next week) as it all comes in plastic. Hmm... time to investigate local options, although I know they’re pretty saturated at the moment. Just seen orange juice futures are the thing to invest in - because everyone is so keen to have OJ for health reasons and because transport restrictions are making it difficult to get it delivered, so therefore prices will be going up!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

That makes me think of Trading Places - I'm sure OJ was one of the things they were investing in?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Oooh a lovely fresh glass of orange juice would hit the spot, the closest we will get is a multivitamin and a glass of squash for a while here 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Had a look at the finances this morning and have a basis for a new plan I think.
As much as possible I would like to reduce outgoings to match (hopefully) temporary lower pay. It looks like with cut backs we can get by if we just pay the interest on the mortgage. Due to the fact we are IO anyway that’s ok 👍 we also have the luxury of (if we can keep hold of it !) of having a three and a half year mortgage on the factory and then he option to op the the rent in the future to our home mortgage. With the disruption to earnings, I think it’s best to stop all ops to the residential mortgage, and then when we have a higher rate of pay return 🤞 we put the factory mortgage op’s into our (residential) offset for safe keeping. When the residential mortgage term ends in April 2022 we pay everything we have off the factory mortgage (hopefully near enough to pay it off or take a loan to clear it ) and take out a new residential mortgage on our home, hopefully for about 3-5 years long with oping and boosted by the freed up rent on the factory. This is all dependant in many factors of course, not least dh still having a job, our bosses still paying the rent, being able to live on lower pay etc. All still rather up in the air really, but it’s not exactly easy to make any plans right now. One thing I’m so grateful for is having the experience to deal with all this after being on mse for a while and learning so much from everyone on here. I have already decided on is living a much more old style life again when things do go back to normal, cooking, baking, growing veg and many more little things, having more control and being organised is quite therapeutic 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -
