I’m very uncomfortable with a frozen shoulder since yesterday, currently waiting for painkillers to kick in before leaving for work :(

Still on the upside £3.43 op made this morning :) annoyingly nationwide have not created my credit card statement on time again, its due on the 5th May and it’s still not done on the 7th - I haven’t been shopping yet but this happens frequently and really causes a problem as if I spend in those days it will still go on the first bill , then I’m over budget. I’m thinking I might get a different cc, NW is a cashback one which I would prefer (or vouchers) I don’t suppose anyone has any good recommendations?

Hope your shoulder is feeling better by now NG.

No advice on the cc I'm afraid, as we're still collecting airmiles. ETA: We've just discovered that hopefully we have enough to fly *back* first class too! :D

Fantastic Vix, that will be such a treat!

Shoulder very painful but I’ve been in bed for a while resting it, seems to be improving :)

  • That's awesome you want to pay off your home mortgage early!! I have been trying to do the same and stick to a realistic budget..but still being able to travel and buy the little extras. Even paying one extra payment a year can cut as much as 7 years off a standard 30 year mortgage and for most of us, making just one extra payment a year is a very realistic goal.

Its much better now thanks, plenty of movement at work which probably helped. That doesn’t sound good re the balance transfer, i hope they sort it quickly for you.

A Little personal spending done today, lunch for best friend and I £10 in M&S, plus a new bra £16. Then I took Dd to see pet semetary at the cinema £13.40 for her ticket plus drinks (ran out at home and was running very late for the film :o)

Weigh in today and after a not especially good week I’ve stayed the same weight :D

Busy weekend, the electrician is coming to do Dd and ds2’s bedroom this Wednesday so we have been stripping the contents and ripping up floors and skirting boards ready. I been told it will take two weeks to completely renovate the rooms and then they will do the kitchen which will take two weeks

This is a bit stressful as ive no idea what kitchen I want, costs are difficult as he’s told is to just choose from the howdens brochure as he will give us the maximum discount (still not sure which are the dearest) and we are on a week long cruise from 8th June leaving the boys home alone from thr first time!

The total budget is £9,697 (£303 spent on lights) this is for bedrooms and kitchen which seems small to me  we will take the plunge anyway and if short will raid what we can including overdrafts and pay it back afterwards, it needs doing desperately and is long overdue now by a few years.

Off to cash for clothes this morning with dd , hopefully will get a bit toward some the extra op target as I cleared loads of my own old clothes too :D

I had a cheap howdens kitchen and I'm not sure it was worth it. After a few years it was as tired as the previous one. I'm saving for a decent one now and making do for the moment.

Oh dear, unfortunately we have a very low budget for this so it will have to be howdens as that’s where we will get the large discount.

£13.25 from cash for clothes, so the extra op target has been hit and stands at £155.18 with seventeen days left to go :D

I’ve been managing to live pretty frugally day to day, there are still regular treats though (of course!) like a curry for the three of us that were in Saturday night, plus regular pots of tea and toast at c@sta while out and about with other people. But by my usual standards this is pretty good :o

I’ve got a secret stash of cash savings on the go in my knicker drawer too, £100 so far.

We have had a howdens kitchen in for about 8 years and it's still perfect. Hope you get one to suit ::)
