    Hi vix, not sure I can promise no girly weekend away :rotfl::rotfl:

    Never had a bond before (except premium bonds as a temporary savings method) come to think of it I’ve never really saved except towards the mortgage :eek: will have a look though thanks :)

    A little shopping done today, thick work socks for ds2 whose new work boots were too big for him this morning - always best to try on new clothes five mins before leaving the house wearing them :mad: I would ask how he got on today but he has gone straight to the pub with friends! I remember the days I could work a six day week and still manage to fit in a few nights clubbing too :beer: the joy of youth :D

    Plans for this week :

    Go to work

    Take Dd to see mary Poppins

    Go for another long walk - did an hour today

    I didn't say you couldn't have a girly weekend, just it shouldn't come out of those savings! ;) (Cue manic rehashing of dastardly plans - it wouldn't be your thread without those!)

    :rotfl:indeed, I love a good plan!

    Refund of £143 from the energy firm came in today’s after I requested it, plus £27 added to my ds1 rent iou list as he has been paid a for a couple off extra days over xmas. Both have gone to the new savings pot that I’ve started, not sure what it’s going towards yet :)

    I took Dd to see Mary poppins last night (free due to pass and meerkat code) which was lovely, she blubbed quite a bit as she loves the first one :rotfl: last year I didn’t get as much use out of the pass as previous years, I need to rectify that this year :D

    £20 out of the budget on diesel , which has lifted the needle from bottom of empty to just over the top of empty of my dads three litre sporty bmw, I’ll have to fill it up when’s i give it back too :eek: such a pain having to borrow it due to the work van being repaired -it’s electric so it’s gone abroad to get repaired , crazy!

    After work tonight I’m off for a curry as it’s a friends birthday, this is not helping my weight loss attempts, although to be honest they are still a bit half hearted :o

    Omg !! That's a lot on diesel to get such a tiny reading. Did he not have a smaller car you could borrow ? I seem to remember he likes cars? :T

    And that's crazy about the electric car having to go abroad - they do push these as being better for the environment but when it comes to times like that it would seem to negate the benefit plus it's so inconvenient for you and the company. The way the government goes on about how 'clean' they are you would think clean electricity just magically appears, they seem to forget it the power stations that make the electrcity and they aren't exactly 'clean' :rotfl:

    Nothing I’m allowed to borrow or would feel safe driving Daisy! The van has a major fault and the delivery driver drove it back from central London even though the lights came on saying do not drive :eek: it probably didn’t help to be honest. THe new van has a much higher range, but the main benefit is not paying the congestion charge although at this rate Sadiq will probably make full electric vehicles pay too soon...

    Lovely meal tonight £21 spent which I spent not too bad, the girls did say pay less as wasn’t drinking, but it feels a bit weird doing that plus they didn’t need have much.

    Washing day today, I’ve not seen the bottom of all the baskets since Xmas :eek: with no tumble dryer and a back log I’ve had it drying on all the radiators as the heated airer won’t hold fifty loads :rotfl:

    Dh and I had a chat last night and have decided to try and get a ball park figure for getting the kitchen and living room done too with a view finishing basically the whole house then more or less. I doubt we will have enough to cover it all but it’s worth finding out.

    I’ve ordered 2x new beds for the bedrooms plus some new furniture for Dd, total cost £987 so there £1940 left in the bedroom budget for the work, plus £7650 for everything else , plus an extra £500 not spent on the cc this month as we are living off xmas cash left over if we can’t stick to it!

    Not much to report this weekend, I went out for dinner Saturday night with dh to prezz@ as they have a cheap offer on at the moment, then cooked a roast dinner yesterday for the masses :D

    Still plodding on with this months lower budget £163.05 left from £400 but not much diesel in the car :eek: but we do have a fair bit of food in and I’m trying to make more effort on the kitchen which helps a lot.

    Hair highlights are very overdue so may try and get in this afternoon, I’ve had the money put by for a while for it but won’t have a cut and blow dry this time so am estimating £75, hopefully it’s not more as that’s what I have put by! Being blonde is expensive :rotfl:

    Also starting this week I’m going to attempt a new cleaning regime, I’m very much unorganised and often leave it a bit and then do everything - which then seems a lot of work, along with the fact the house often looks not that clean in some areas.

    I was going to follow the flylady thread again where they tell you what to do and when, but with such a busy house I think I need to repeat somethings more often. So it’s not exactly mortgage related but could help with things being kept in good order and use up time that I could be spending online looking at stuff I want to buy or do :rotfl:

    DAILY ROUTINE:

    * wipe over basins/toilets/showers and baths

    * hoover/sweep downstairs

    * bleach kitchen sink

    MONDAY:

    * Tidy our bedroom and dust / hoover

    * hoover all stairs/landings

    * tidy hall and dust halll and landings

    Maybe look at Team TOMM for housework? - The Organised Mum Method - there's a faceb00k page and a blog (with printables! :D) Seems to be quite a sensible method :)
