They still have Harvesters?!
Hope DH has cheered up.0 -
:rotfl: they sure do! Dh has cheered up thanks shs, although he was suffering this morning after his boozy night

I've spent the day ironing, dh never made it to the car show but will go to the cinema tonight with ds2, so I'm going to tackle the finances and re jug the op calculator spreadsheet to see where we are at

Hope you get plans sorted for DD's birthday - it was my sister's 30th this weekend (only a family BBQ) and the time arranged for that was 3pm... we, naturally, all turned up early!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh dear, I don't enjoy early guests :rotfl:
The ball is certainly rolling now with the party, estimate around 50sh at the moment, cake lady has come back with a price of £240 , it could have been less by toning the design down and not having so many 3D figures but i left it to her original design.
Bouncy castle disco dome with speakers and led lights booked today (£160 :eek:) plus I've done a list of food to order and shopping list.
As we are doing afternoon tea and an evening BBQ it's quite a lot of food needed :eek: I'll get a couple of trays of wraps from Costco but dad makes the best posh finger sandwiches so we will have those, a few bits from m and s and the rest Costco.
We are nearing into what could have been a cheap summer holiday for two now! However I don't think we will regret spending on a good day with plenty of food and drink for the kids, it's one of those times to make a fuss :beer:
Last minute day off tomorrow to continue the prep :T need to get ready for dds birthday Wednesday, luckily I've managed to move her trip to the London eye a few hours earlier so it doesn't clash with the football!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
It was a rollercoaster day yesterday! Apart from the devastation of the football, it was a great day celebrating Dd's 21st

We had a birthday Buck's Fizz breakfast while she opened her presents, then off to the London eye for a couple of glasses of champagne and a whirl round, then a quick drink on a boat on the embankment followed by an afternoon tea cruise in the Thames. Her and boyfriend then went to the pub to meet friends, a really enjoyable day
Party plans are rather overwhelming! Considering the kids are only asking a handful of friends as it's already at over 50 :eek: plus we are feeding everyone twice, just to make that bit extra expense and work :rotfl: I've ordered a couple of boxes of "roadkill" aka elk and deer sausages from the online wild game store, off to buy most of the rest of the food today. I think it's killing my parents a bit as they are quite particular and I'm getting all the food and drink - already they are buying in extra (incase I runout) when I've not even started shopping properly, and "roadkill" is not something they would serve
THURSDAY:
* washing and ironing up to date , change some beds
* Costco shop again
* buy dinner to take to friends tonight
* see best friend for lunch and shopping
* buy more wine
* check accounts - don't add up party costs , too depressing

What an exhausting few days, the party was fantastic and everybody seemed to enjoy it, had to throw the last guests out at 2am so we could go home :rotfl: I spent a day decorating the garden with bunting, Pom poms and fairy lights which looked magical as it got dark. The cakes were amazing!
Not sure of the financial damage but we ended up doing yet another booze run for prosecco on the day (30 odd bottles :eek:) plus vast amounts of everything else, I will have to go through the accounts later in the week when I have time, it won't be good news though :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Thanks guys it was! I did try and upload photos of the cakes via various sites but failed

Today has been spendy again, after work I bought lots more bits for the festival is weekend (although I should be reimbursed for most of it!) I also splashed out last night on a kindle paperwhite plus a months prime so I could get it at a discount -35% off. No excuses for this , Ive just always wanted a kindle and never got round to it
Hopefully it will help with my aims to be an all round healthier person, less eating and boozing more early nights and reading - at least that's the plan :rotfl:
Feel a bit bad I'm so behind with diaries, I hope everyone is ok

I'm glad it's all gone well Newgirly! You've had these parties on the radar for so long... they've been part of your plans for mortgage freedom since forever, so it's great that they've been memorable!
