Home and in bed
the cruise went as well as expected really - mum and aunt mostly made an effort but it was busy and not what they are used to, they are not confident doing a lot so I organised everything really.
Unfortunately we actually went on a cruise to nowhere! it was a 2 nighter that went to Guernsey , but due to bad whether they didn't dock there and so we stayed on the ship for two days :rotfl: I've promised Dd that dh and I will take her and boyfriend on a mini cruise after the mortgage has gone
Spending was lower than expected really, I was over charged on a bar bill last name got so hopefully that will be refunded, all in all about £75 on the ship (£20 on photos ) and about £60 on dinner and drinks in the hotel the night before.
The boys and dh have a delayed flight tonight, hopefully only couple of hours. I had some very interesting videos sent of their antics in Budapest this weekend, including dh doing trapeze tricks on a hula hoop and gym ribbons, it worrying that he was the responsible adult :rotfl::rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Oh dear oh dear! Not the best ops in the last two months
Back on the frugal wagon now mind
After a good look and to keep the new end date of july 2019 we have exactly £800 pm for everything except direct debits and mortgage ops. The only exception to this (as there was a slight surplus ) is November this year, it will be a lower op of £400 less than usual, I just prefer to have a nice round number to live off
The £400 will pay for our Xmas break in bath with friends.
Monthly amount on cc to live on £800
Interest on mortgage £66.05
Monthly op £3020 (except Nov - £2,620)
End date July 2019
In the the next five months until new year, I'll also need to budget for xmas and birthdays, various including parents and dh. This will mean serious cut backs everywhere to create some leftover cash to cover it all.
So starting today :
- read meters for the first time in a long time!
- check freezers and meal plan
- stop spending unless it's to put away for Xmas
- ditch the booze, this should save a lot and hopefully help me feel better and lose weight, I've been working up to it for a while now.
- cancel WW and start using MyFitnessPal instead
- start reading diaries and blogs again for ideas
- use gym and cinema memberships to get money's worthMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Will try to

Back to work and I wish I wasn't! Things are worse than I realised and we don't have enough work again, it's not the first time we have edged towards the brink. Dh is trying all angles to get more work in, but the first thing to go this time will be the part of dhs wages that's paid in dividends, it can't be done unless things improve so it will mean a lot ££££ less money
I'm on lock down for everything not essential (however hair highlights now count as an essential :rotfl:) did a shop at mr t tonight - a fair few yellow stickers, some value bits and barely any convenience foods. £11 clubcard vouchers and £69 cash spent.
Turned down an invite to an Elvis tribute curry night with the girls , no excuse given just "sorry I can't make it"
On a brighter note I feel strangely more in control - cooking from scratch etc. I know that whatever happens we will manage and we are in so much more of a better position thanks to the mfw board

New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Hi KK thanks for popping by, I hope you are well

I'm not tracking everything at the moment, I am hoping to just switch to eating healthier and not drinking alcohol, hopefully that should make a big difference.
I had my last glass of wine on the cruise Saturday night, to be honest I've cut down quite a bit over the last few weeks, as I knew it would be busy and stressful I would usually drink more (especially with so much birthday party booze around !) and already I am sleeping better, its harder to get to sleep but I don't wake at all in the night.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sorry to hear things are not good with the business again. I know it's a very specialised area, but have you considered something innovative? I don't really know what as I have no experience at all in the area (although I've got fair idea of the business), but maybe new products that you sell online? Even if money is tight, might an innovation consultant be worth a punt? (Please feel free to tell me to shut up!)
Well done on the cutting back on booze - I definitely know I sleep better if I haven't had a drink. It's good all round to avoid it, it seems!
Are you stretching the time between highlights as much as possible? Could you/a friend/DD do them at home?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Sorry to read about the business difficulties - do you have any way to map out your pipeline of committed and prospective work? I'm trying to come up with something like that so I can work out when to really switch to sales mode.
 you definitely can manage anything, you have a whole toolkit to get you through.Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857
