Hi kittenkirst, nice to know the cocktails are good :D

Super lazy day today, bit of washing and ironing done and a LOT of non weightwatcher friendly eating

Not heard from Dd today so no idea if they have booked an appointment to view the flat or it's sold or they decided against it! Not at all spontaneous like her mum :rotfl:

Although it's far too early I'm having an early shower and pjs night in, freshly washed white bedsheets and a film whilst doing a bit of Xmas shopping on the pandora site (many very cheap Xmas charms :D) The boys are not out as far as I know tonight which means hopefully a decent amount of sleep, I think the alcohol I had at the races Thursday and again last night is not doing me any good, keep waking up for no reason in the early hours.

Financial updates to be done tonight too :money:

Dd is back and apparently they are waiting for a call back Monday to view later in the week. Boyfriend has also booked an appointment with his bank manager, didn't realise that was still an option still!

I'm slightly stressed out about the fact we (er, actually I) offered up to £25k without finding out how much they are short by, I really hope they are not short anywhere close to that  the reality of it is just beginning to sink in :o

Oh well, if worst comes to worst I shall be loitering around here for a while longer!

oh h£ck NG ,after giving our DD £8k for deposit last year I "get" your need to help... however our DD was a single mum living in a tiny dark and cold 2 bed rental..... or we thought so

We were pleased to help and got carried away by the process... then the little ones dad moved in and me and OH swore a bit as we feel a little conned :( he earns >£30k in a car plant, he is in debt, and they argue nearly all of the time.... and now he's benefitting from our work

Our DD is quite relaxed and happy go lucky, so once I brought it up it rolled off her back :o the next time I was cross with her over something and I told her how we felt... she just said "Awe why you being like that mum "

So bye bye £8k !!!8230; The other DD doesn't now exactly how much but throws it back at us occasionally "well you bought her a house" But we will have to do the same for her when she is in that position....

    x your £25k by 3

Oh dear mfd's :( a difficult situation all round!

Hopefully it won't be £25k, because as you say we will have to time's it by three  I don't think they will take the plunge as they are both quite reserved when it comes to money and had not planned to move out so early. I do get what you are saying though....

    Thanks for your understanding :o
don't get me wrong, we were thrilled to be able to help. We are lucky to have cheaper properties where we are, her just having a look to see what she needed to achieve snowballed. OH share scheme paid out well at the time. But this was earmarked for early retirement for him. (he's 59) so we've got 2 share saves now hopefully to recoup the cash.

We never expected our daughter to be single forever, she had had a couple of dates... but never expected him to move in the month after :o

Wow that is quick  She is very lucky you were willing to do that to help, it makes such a difference!

Will wait and see what transpires this week, neither are keen to rush into it, but know that it's may be the only option of a 2 bed in our area which they would both rather live in. Luckily he has a really good job so is now saving well and doesn't really want our help, I think I may feel differently if he wasn't!
Dd has been saving since her first job, she's always been desperate to leave us, which is why I'm surprised she now wants to live so close by :rotfl::rotfl:

I think it may be a strong possibility that the boys may well end up at some point living together (ds2 has already mentioned that, not sure how ds1 feels!) who knows what will happen, it might actually work out well, I often wish I'd done a house share before meeting dh :D

Either way it will cost ££££ but I guess in the back of our minds this may well be the real reason we have viewed so many houses over the years and never moved - at some point they all move out and perhaps it's best if we can stay where we are and help them out instead, we will have three spare beds anyway :(

Welll the flat has gone, sold and agents didn't let them know of course! They will now wait until the end of next year to look, it gives them a bit more time to save I guess.

After a good few days diet wise I went to WW tonight to be told they had forgotten the scales, It would take an hour to collect them so did we want to wait or just leave it! annoying as I was starving :rotfl: I would have thought that's probably the most crucial part of being a ww consultant, this particular one doesn't host a meeting after either. Oh well, we shall probably cancel soon as we are giving slim fast a go ( only as a temporary boost before holidays !)

£50k is back in the offset, still can't believe they just add it to the mortgage and pay it back into the savings account with one five min phone call, so strange when it takes four hours to lock in to a new mortgage deal, we are effectively £50k more in debt with no financial checks....

OMG to WW.... one of those "you only had one thing to do moments" facepalm :D

I love the idea of having £50k at my disposal... but I would likely buy a house :o good job I haven't :)

:rotfl: the plan of oping it was to stop the temptation, it doesn't work if you can just take it back again :o

So the time has arrived when our plans get ruined, it's a miracle it's taken to almost July for it to happen, it's usually by about February :o

The kids party (the one they were not really having!) has turned from a family BBQ (budget £100) to a family /friend's extravaganza over two different dates :rotfl:

The first plan was to have a family BBQ at mums in their big garden and then the boys to go to ours with their many friends - don't think my parents fancied thirty odd drink teenagers! While Dd and everyone else partied at mum's.

Now the boys will do their friend one in August so we will just do a big party at mum's, starting with afternoon tea and moving on to BBQ in the evening.

    It's snowballing already

Im borrowing best fiends sweet cart and doughnut wall, plus we are getting an inflatable gladiator ring, there will be a karaoke tent for late night at the bottom of the garden, plus obviously al lot more food and drink needed!
