Nice list. :) There are loads of really MSE things left on it too. Runner beans on my list too! I was 25 before I had shop bought runner beans and am now far too much of a snob to eat them.

So sorry michelle totally missed this post before! The smell of homegrown runner beans is divine :)

Hi bluefire, I used to love titanic but have not watched it since we started going on cruises :rotfl: saw Star Trek a fair few times a few summers ago with dd - that was Zachary Quintos fault :D did see the greatest showman New Year's Eve, but strangely didn't actually know it was a muciscal as I hadn't seen a trailer so it was a shock!

The kids and I have decided dh is a real life Homer Simpson, not meant too much in derogatory way, but for an average guy he seems to find himself doing unusual stuff. This week he had a call from a national paper who wanted to interview him about brexit, today he's in the paper with a photo and article under a picture of Theresa May, he's had lunch with the queen and the duke of Edinburgh came over, crouched down and talked to him at his table for a while (but nobody else there) it's getting quite funny now, perhaps he will go into space soon :rotfl:

Mount ironing needs doing today :( dh wants to go to the cinema too, we watched Jumanji in the week instead of the one we were going to see due to timings. Not sure what's out at the moment.

All ironing done :T it was a whole day job :o

Still back on track to be organised from now on, I've even made some veggie WW friendly chilli for this week, plus 3x trays of spicy wedges and 2x trays of roast potatoes, the potato glut is now over :D

Off to the shops today, need to get a birthday cards and presents/voucher, already budgettted for so not coming from my purse thank goodness. It will probably be warmer outside than it is at home today, I switched the heating down low last night and haven't turned it up yet, it's freezing :snow_grin

It was seeing Titanic that put the idea of going on cruises on our head! (although not the sinking part)

:rotfl::rotfl: The sinking part was most of it :D

Just debating whether to buy a bottle of Marc jacobs honey perfume, I think dd would like it and it's £52 for 50ml down to £24.45 after discount and tcb, could put it away for her birthday, not sure.

  • They are so good. Just got to get the bamboo to make the frames and you're off!

He's had lunch with the Queen? That's impressive, can you tell us why?

I think I will do the year Michelle, I didn't grow anything last year.

Dh won a business award for our borough and was runner up for east London at the same time and it coincided with the time the Queen was visiting the area, initially we were told she would be visiting our factory  thanks goodness she didn't and it was lunch up the road instead as we still have the same bottle of mr muscle we bought three years ago when we moved in, I don't think she would have liked it :rotfl:

I have decided to stuff my face today, not a little bit , but an awful lot. I am thoroughly fed up with eating WW free food -fruit /veg/ fat free natural yoghurt/ quorn mince and eggs. For a week or so it's great and then it gets miserable and boring.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon :o

Oh dear greent, I don't want to hear that please - I need to hear how well you are doing :rotfl::rotfl:

Had to pop to mr t tonight to get cat litter for our diva of a cat who only uses a certain type, after shopping with no list and buying random things I've now only got £45.20 left until 1st Feb- its all the cat's fault!

Other finances are going very well, I even have a surplus of cash in my new petty cash tin I got for Xmas, ds2 thinks it's rather sad having an actual tin, but it's so much fun having little sections for your coins :D

Had annoying conversations at work again today, a reoccurring theme of people having no money (this time for an mot) but bought new sofas on finance last week. Sometimes I feel like a preacher but doesn't anybody plan for stuff you know you have to pay for? None of my business I guess.

Can't understand why anyone would buy a sofa on finance, to be honest. Sounds utterly crazy re. your colleague.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500
  • I once had a colleague (teacher) who 'purchased' new sofas in the summer holidays and was planning to use the pay rise she would be getting not that September, but the September afterwards to pay for them.
When that September came around oh how she Moaned that she 'wasn't going to see any benefit from this pay rise AND they expect me to do more work'.
