I need that toilet seat Michelle

Great day yesterday, spent a fortune on cocktails (£12 each?! it's less in London
) a pub lunch and curry last night, also squeezed in roast chestnuts, mulled wine and a visit to an vintage miniature toy fairground.
Lots of lovely stalls and nothing bought yet, plenty of police with guns and video cameras filming the crowds, we have that at our local shopping centre now , but it's still a shame it has to happen.
I've just found out the boys parents evening is the same night as my girls Xmas night out to he theatre to see dreamgirls  this has happened last year, dh went and his tutors were not available and I had to spend a week chasing them up for updates.
I really want to see the tutors, but dh could go all alone, two weeks notice is not much and it's a pretty busy time of year for most people, so frustrating as the ticket cost £55, not sure what to do.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Ask to see the tutors at a different point (but get the appointments booked in now) you just say you have a long standing engagement that can't be rearranged.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

I like it! Sad as it is, but I am a sucker for anything that reduces the time spent cleaning.
Two weeks notice in December is ridiculous, most people have loads of plans by that point. Hope you can get something sorted.0 -

Thanks I will try, it was hard enough getting an email or phone call with all but one tutor unfortunately.
Michelle I have to say I think it's probably the most awkward time to do parents evening without the short notice, Xmas treats or work commitments are often booked a long time in advance.
Back home now, after a very long journey home stopping at about 8 pubs for lunch which were all fully booked  we ended up round the corner to our house for lunch at 4pm! Xmas market was crazily busy and very expensive but enjoyable. No souvenirs bought except 5x red glass light up wine style bottles for. £1land to decorate the table at Xmas.
Now the really expensive stuff is out of the way I feel a bit more positive about making better progress on the mortgage next year. It's a busy week but I'm hoping to find some time to look at the finances.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Just to add balance - we've got one of those toilet seats (not for that reason, it was just the best replacement fit) and DH loves it because it makes it easier for *him* to clean!

I'm lying in bed putting off getting up for work

This week is too busy, meeting up with the girls who I've not seen for quite a while tonight, Xmas meal and pub crawl Friday, work, a day in york with my parents. I've not even had time to unpack yet and have a stinking cold.
York is the one I'd like to drop really as it's such a long day and I don't feel well, but my parents have bought a flat to use there (after a throwaway comment by me! They can be rather impulsive ) we are supposed to be measuring up etc. So I feel mean not going.
Sometimes you just need time to Potter at home, especially this time of year. I've overbooked doing things in December and then it gets stressful! I just want to watch Xmas films and put up decorations , maybe cook some mince pies etc.

I love how your phone/ tablet/ whatever has autocorrected and capitalised 'potter' from where you're such a HP fan! :rotfl::rotfl:
Impulse flat buying.... never let your parents and Gally get together - just imagine how many property purchases could happen as a result!!!:p:rotfl:

Very nice themadvix! To be fair, OH hates bathroom cleaning but does most of the laundry and all the vacuuming so I don't mind doing it. (I just disapprove of the assumption that I clean!)
Wow, that is impulsive. York is lovely so I hope they love it. Can you reschedule that one if they own the flat?
Hopefully you get over the cold quickly and then you can enjoy all your trips?0 -
:rotfl::rotfl: plenty more capital P's when I tell you about my Christmas tree theme this year

Hi Michelle, we can go anytime but train tickets are booked. Sounds very wussy but I really can't see a 7am-9pm day out that easy, I've felt pretty rough all day.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
