Thanks everyone you are very kind. Dh is away for one night with his brothers for a catch up and is clearly feeling bad for not being here as ive had six phone calls now (in varying levels of drunkeness) to see if I'm ok. Now Dd is home I'm going to bed, I feel like I've been up for days.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Washing
Ironing
Quick mini clean around house it's not too bad
Apply for current accounts for boys
Do the money shuffle - still not done from weds, I've massively overspent and have £500 odd of vets bills too
Email builder that quoted for extension, don't know what we are allowed to build until council email back
Locate boys old passports and apply for new online, horrid feeling they are lost though!
Transfer money to Dd for new plain black trainers for her new job - she did a trial at a huge busy ice cream parlour yesterday and got the job, full time through summer then what hours she wants once uni is back, she did well although she left just after we had taken the dog to the vet so was trying to hold it together poor thing

So sorry to hear about your dog, NG. I'm sure you must be feeling the hole in the family at the moment - it's fine to not be very productive for a couple of days, you're grieving after all. xxMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks you are all so kind, sounds crazy but it just feels like the end of an era. It kind of feels like a link from the past has gone , my grandparents who are both now gone used to make a fuss of her. It's life moving on putting more distance between now and the past
Need to get my act together today, the WW has gone out the window as I've drunk a lot this weekendon he plus side I've not eaten much.
We had a quote from one buildier for extension (who didn't measure up or notice he drain!) £15k +vat which is very low, it doesn't include bifold doors so that's another £10k ish plus toilet suite /kitchen etc. Other builder hasn't got back to us still.
I emailed the council re building over the drain but they have not replied, I think if we can't I'm not sure We will get it done as it's so much money for a better layout but the same floor space basically - losing the large conservatory one side to gain a short extension all along the back.
I hate not knowing what we are doing financially, mortgage op not made yet this month and spending has been very high, I've bought the kids a few clothes and we had the vets bill too, plus I'm going to get the boys passports incase we want to go away.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Busy at work his week, we have won loads more government work which is now arriving - great news financially, but not so good if you wanted to take the week off to spend with the kids because you are fed up
dh has finally had his dodgy arm diagnosed, tennis elbow which won't be help lugging heavy boxes at work.
Dd is already doing extra hours at the ice cream parlour she started working at on Monday, the place is heaving winter and summer and charges a fortune but they seem to never have enough staff! She seems tired but happy though as she can fill her help to buy isa and wants to open a second savings account, when I was her age it was spent on new clothes, cars and drinkingactually I still do that :rotfl:
Still no news from builders or council, the upstairs will be started on 9th June, we need to find a shower suite and flooring, I have a rough idea -im thinking a big walk in plain glass shower, possibly a deco style basin, unsure about toilet , "urinal" as my dad calls them tiles in the shower - the old style brickwork white ones. White painted walls (fed up with full tiles and cleaning the grout!) and Victorian hallway print style posh Lino flooring or perhaps tiles.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
That sounds like a popular style of bathroom NG, I am thinking along similar lines. Flat tiles as opposed to raiser metro ones as it feels like edges will make it harder to clean and like you, want to keep that to a minimum!Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857
