Perhaps that's a generational thing, my gran used to put a little side plate out with biscuits on if she had guests :)

You are right Alex, although my weight has crept on due to me not bothering to make time for me. I will cook meals for the kids and dh, and not make a proper meal for me, which means eating snacks instead.

Our dog was poorly yesterday, tried a new vet very close by that's just opened, £19.99 consultation fee plus medication, lovely friendly staff and saw me straight away, a big improvement on our usual rip off vet. When she needed an operation a few years ago they wouldn't give me a price over the phone AFTER she had it done "people don't usually ask for the cost" apparently!

:rotfl: Re. the biscuits, that's a "second cup of tea of the day" thing with my parents.

I cannot understand not making food you want to eat for you, NG. It's not healthy. However, I can see how it has perhaps become as it has due to you eating a different diet to the rest of your family.

:(:( Re. your dog and the rip off vet. Hope your dog is getting better now.

Dog seems better thanks Alex, although hot weather has not helped her I'm sure :(

2lb off this week :D it felt like it should have been 10lb off as I've been so good :rotfl: Its best friend's mum's 70th party next week so I Might try on some of the Lindy bop dresses I bought last year that are too small, I don't want to buy something new really.

Pay day was weds and I've still not done the money shuffle

It's been a horrid day, the dog seemed worse this morning so I took her back to the vets and she had some blood tests and it's either a liver infection or liver cancer (but very late stage ) as she has enlarged lymph nodes on her neck which also happens with the an infection. I am shocked at how quick she has become ill. She has been on a drip all day and is on antibiotics, either she will rally quite quickly when they kick in or not , in which case it's the worse scenario :(

She is back home and has eaten a tiny amount tonight which is a good sign, it's a case of fingers crossed now.

    Thanks Alex :)

She doesn't seem worse tonight, but as my mum says you can't tell with kids and animals they get better/ worse very quickly. The boys have been to a concert and are at a friend's for a few hours afterwards, I'm waiting up (or trying to stay awake!), it's getting hard as I'm sooo tired now.

Thanks xspender and the madvix she is still the same really, I need to do what the vet said and give hen antibiotics a chance to kick in, but I think if she has not improved by tomorrow morning I'll take her to another branch where the vet she has been seeing is working this weekend. She has eaten tiny amounts again today but is weak.

Very rough night last night waiting up for ds2, then getting up to check on the dog and then woken by dh at 5am as he is off to visit his brothers in Lincoln for the weekend (lucky thing!), i don't want to leave the dog alone so she is watching all he pirates of the Caribbean films today with me, we are having a very very lazy day :)
