Well I told DH last night that I had OP'd £500 from the log cabin budget as we we had gone for a cheaper one and he did'nt bat an eyelid. :D
I am super tight with money at the moment, and to be honest I think he must be used to me saying we have no money as we have always been struggling with debts before, so he's used to it now. I think this has spurred me on to keep that tight reign on spending.

I was thinking of planning some nice treats throughout the year though , as we do have a habit of booking up last minute caravan breaks with the kids during the holidays, which are cheap deals, but often cost a lot when we are there. I was dangerously close to booking one the other day, hence paying the £500 extra off the mortgage to take away the temptation.

I need some good ideas for the easter hols, so far we are going to family for easter sunday and the boys have a party but thats it.
Usually i have clubcard vouchers to spend on days out but I'm saving those at the moment for the ferry for our Aug hol. I do fancy a theme park day out but they are sooo expensive. I might have a look on the days out board and see if there are any good ideas.

Today will be another busy one. I'm supposed to be going to zumba this morning and have let my friend down for the last 2 weeks, due to being ill and the kids having a day off. But i feel so rough today as the dog was barking at foxes outside for half the night, plus its ToM. I may have to beg her forgivness and wimp out.
I have the girls coming ver for lunch today, which will be linda mc c veggie sausage sandwiches and cake, then out for a drink with my best friend tonight (if she is still talking to be after not going zumba!)

A miracle happened yesterday and I recieved a cheque back from dd's school as I had paid too much for her school trip, only £12, but the first time that has ever happened, i will have to pay that off the mortgage.
I'm currently using whats left of my birthday money which will pay for tonight and hopefully dh will help out a bit as the budget has gone for this month already.
On the plus side its nice to start earning a bit again, its just finding time to fit everything in, I should have a bit more time when the boys start senior school and I don't lose time doing the school runs.

I had a nice evening with my friend last night and only spent £6 which was a result. I am going to have to use the last £14 odd left from my birthday money for food I think, petrol is going ok this month so far, but my £50 fill up is more like £60 now. Its a nice sunny day here but freezing, and I can't decide what to do.
We will have to go out somewhere or the boys will be glued to the xbox all day, maybe just go into town for a wander for an hour or so,and try not to spend.
I need to do quite a few hours work for dh this weekend as well, I'm going to try and pay at least half off the mortgage and spend the rest. One thing that I was hoping to buy was a homebrew kit, my brother makes his own beer and its quite nice as long as its very cold. has anyone on here tried making their own beer or wine?
Just thought it would be fun for the summer.

Hi Newgirly, glad you are feeling better now. Looking forward to seeing the pics of the cabin. I haven't made any homebrew but i used to work in Wilkinsons and the homebrew stuff used to sell really well so it can't be too bad!

Today, I'm staying in and doing some more work for dh and some ironing. I defrosted the last chicken yesterday and its in the slow cooker for later. I was going to do a full roast but really don't feel like it so may just steam a few veg instead.

DH has taken the boys to a boot sale this morning and has just rung to ask if he can but them an air hockey table for the log cabin, its £20 so I've left it up to him. I was going to try and get one that flips over to a pool table second hand as a birthday present for them in july, but I'm sure the 3 of them will come back with this one instead, my oh is more impatient than the kids sometimes.
this morning I've also been looking on weezl's site and there seem to be some new receipes that I've not seen before, I definatly need to get more organinsed with my cooking, I think thats where all the money keeps disappearing to, for example a box of cookie crisp(a weekend treat), for the kids ws gone in one day. So i thought i might start by trying the brakfast pancakes receipe first.

Hope everyone is having a good sunday :D

Our food spends have become extortionate again this month. I think because i have become a bit bored. I need to get focussed again and get my bum into gear. I am so all or nothing. I've not been recording spends that well again either this month. Good job we all rally each other on this board.

I have'nt posted for 2 whole days ! There does not seem to be enough hours in the day lately. Anyway, this morning has been busy as dd's new boyfriend was knocking and walking her to school, so got up early and tried to tidy a bit first, so as not to frighten him off.;) He seems really sweet, he is coming over for tea tomorrow with a couple of her other friends as well.

I am supposed to be working for dh at home today, but am going to sneak off to the shops this morning first and try and get some new jeans, I have a debenhams voucher from my birthday to spend, which is proving tricky as its so expensive in there, I think i would have done better with a primarni voucher, its more my style :rotfl:
The work I have been doing for dh is being done a couple of hours at a time really rather than 1 whole day a week, which is fine but seems to be eating into my time more. Its just having to lean over the machine for long periods is giving me back ache, or it could be I'm not used to working hard anymore ;) Still I have not been paid yet, so far I am owed £50 yay!

    Todays tasks are;
    • Make bread
    • work a few hours for dh
    • find jeans that fit and make me look thin:D
    • make chicken and veg soup
    • washing4 loads/ironing 1 hour
    • check bank accounts
