I am completely shattered. I have spent the day making cement in a mixer with DH. The suppliers could not get the lorry up to our back gate, so we have had to barrow through 2 tons of sandy stuff (forgot its name!) and 15 bags of cement. Its still not finished , but we are ;) Its to make a fairly wonky base for the log cabin:rotfl:

Dh insists it will be level when finished, which it will have to be as I think with a hot tub in it will really show if the water is running one way.

I have been useless today with money, as I drew out a lot of cash to pay for the cement stuff and did'nt use it all , put it in my purse and went to Mrt to collect a duvet cover for DD that i ordered online, from the grabbit board for £2.37. Unfortunatly I ended coming back with a full price bed set for us, 2 packs of beer and some bits for lunch that are now eaten. Not great and over £40. I am too tired to allocate what went where at the moment so will try and adjust all figures another day, although I must admit its tempting to write it off as more cement!

I am not up to surveys tonight and the only exercise I am capable of is maybe lifting a wine glass, hope everyone is having a good weekend.:)

I have had another manic day, dh went to work today at 4.30am to pick up some tools that he needed to carry on the work today, I also got up then as well, which is a crazy time to get up on a sunday if you don't have to.

The concrete base is done, but it rained all last night and all day today, so goodness knows what it will set like.

I've been rushing around trying to mop floors as its a mud bath here, with cement mixers going through the house etc. I've managed to do everything that needed doing except clean and tidy upstairs which will have to be done in the week, just baths and getting ready for school stuff to do.

I need to make time to work out the budget for the log cabin as we are trying to decide between two. I think it may be too optimistic to get the bathroom and the log cabin done for 4K. I did offer to sit down with dh and talk him through the mortgage plan, the budget, and how much we should op or spend on the house and he did not look keen. I said "you are not that bothered either way are you " to which he replied no! So I guess its all up to me :D
Hopefully will look at that later tonight, whilst relaxing in front of the tv.

DHs always have that glazed look on their faces don't they, when we start our OP conversations! :D Having said that, good we can usually get our own way hehe ;)

Personally, I know you want both the log cabin and the bathroom done for £4, but if the figures are not adding up I would make sure you get the log cabin you truly love and not one that is a bit cheaper and just "will do". Worth waiting a little bit longer and then having both the log cabin and the bathroom you want :) I know you Newgirly, you will soon get your bathroom of your dreams soon too!

Your weekend sounds totally exhausting and muddy :p hope you have a more relaxing evening, though with an early morning like you have had, I bet you will be tucked up in your bed soon!

Thanks :) I should be tucked up in bed , instead I have been changing my signature again, to try and make a bit clearer.

You are right about the cabin Mummalove, I think we will go for the better one, and leave the bathroom for a bit longer. That will use all the money until we start Oping properly in may.

I hope everyone had a good weekend :D

I have finally ordered the log cabin at last, it was a bit cheaper than expected as they had wrongly worded on their site that it included the floor , which when you went to pay was an added extra , so rang them, and they would not do it for the lower price but would knock £100 off the floor , I managed to get them down to £176 discount in the end , so the whole thing has cost £1900 with free delivery. Much cheaper than others we looked at with the same spec.So am wondering whether to op a little extra now with some of the money incase it gets swallowed up, the only other major expenses left are the fuse box/ wiring/electrician and the floor, which will be either tiles or lino. Hopefully they should come in at not a lot over £500.

No topcashback unfortunatly but did pay on my cc so will earn lots of points for a voucher soon :D

I have hit another £10 on vo again so have asked for an amazon voucher, which can be for something for dd's birthday in july.
Yesterday I was also given 2 big bags of clothes for the boys from a friend , so there are quite a few tracksuit bottoms and t shirts that will do them for football and the garden , plus a couple of good shirts.

So other than spending on the cabin its been a fairly mse day!

:j:j Have just made an op of £500 on the mortgage, it should still leave us with about £1200 to pay for the other expenses for the work that needs doing, which should be plenty. This is a secret from dh though, if i'd asked he probably have found another use for it ;)

Whilst on the phone to the chelsea, I found out that they have changed another part of their op rules and they now keep a record of op's as a credit on your account, which they did not used to do. So if you get into trouble paying the mortgage you can use the credit you have built up, which can only be a good thing.

I've also worked out what figure I need to get down to by the end of the year to stay on track to pay it off 10 years from when I joined here. I am hoping it will be easier to follow, as I lose track all the time listing the op's and especially some being for the cc/improvements etc. so now I'm focusing on the mortgage bal only really, as the 0% CC will be swapped as and when the deal finishes and just the min paid each month, as it works out cheaper.

I have just worked out that to hit my target this Dec, I need to op by £1196 per month on top of the interest payments! Scary stuff.

Hi mummalove, it should take 10-20 working days to come. :j

I have had a fairly busy morning, have done a couple of hours work for DH at home, a few loads of washing and am about to start ironing. Did manage one survey on vo as well, but nothing on one poll, they used to be a few a day, now they seem to be a few days with none then tons at once.

I popped to mr t last night and got 10 of their £1 eggs on offer, decided to buy all the same so I don't forget who gets what! I will get the kids bigger ones though. I know they were doing the same ones for 3 for 2 for £2.50 soon, but i did not want to drive out again, plus they had already run out of some already. I did spend more money though, so I'm already in Aprils money from the 4k challenge, i'm not sure whether to keep on this challenge or not as i feel like I'm cheating as dh keeps buying food etc from his budget which is not included. Plus it's REALLY hard :rotfl:
