Another spendy week so far, took ds2 to the cinema last night but got stuck in traffic so missed it and had a pizza whilst waiting for the next showing, then it was dd and mines's London day out today, we saw elf with a mince pie and mulled wine at the prince Charles cinema in Leicester Square - tiny little place and only £8 including the snack and drink each :money: then we spent a bit of time wandering round the national gallery then a quick drink and then a burger at planet Hollywood. I feel shattered and have a stinking cold so it wasn't the best day to do it, but she is not often free now.
Tomorrow it's ds1's turn and we are doing to see Star Wars :j:j:j dd will tag along too I think as she loves it! It's meerkat weds and I have the pass so only a £6.95 spend plus perhaps a lunch nearby if I can persuade ds1 to go ( unlike the others he is harder to bribe to go out with me :rotfl:)
So crazily busy at work I had to go in again yesterday - that's 2 out of my last 4 days booked off I've gone in, dh just basically has no time off. I feel sorry for him but also rather cross at his working himself into a grave doing 20hour days sometimes, its the Xmas rush so it should calm down soon, he can't ever turn work down! I put my foot down last night as he was planning on working through the night and the next day, my shrieking paid off and he came home and slept.
Hopefully the rest of the week will be more relaxed at work and home, I still need to plan Boxing Day lunch. so far it's a theme of cold meat but controversially with no mash and veg  I'm thinking of going for various winter salads (lacking ideas here?) but would like beetroot/grains/feta/apple type things rather than summer salads, fancy bread ,spinach pie, pickles, cheese board etc.
I'm so far behind with so many diaries, hopefully I can catch up over the next couple of weeks, thanks to anyone who visited or posted on my diary this year it's so lovely for people to spend their time commenting (good or bad :rotfl:) it's nice to have some friendship on this rather long path to paying the mortgage offMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Grocery challenge update:
£1000 budget for oct 1st -31st December £1086.45 now spent so far  overspending is due to me doing a big Xmas shop (except the fresh stuff ) and getting lots of wine/beer/prosecco from Aldi at the weekendnot much left to buy now and we should have minimal top up spending for the rest of the month. Aldi are going brilliant special offers on their super six this week at 19p per item so I will am top up on those again before Xmas :T
Not as good as I'd planned but still not much over £2 a day pp for 5/6 of us including pet food/alcohol/toiletries/household stuff.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
A salad involving sprouts? - definitely seasonal and there are some yummy sounding recipes online
I would post links but my laptop's playing up

Shall have a look greent , we love spouts here
Thanks Lincoln p, don't be too impressed as this month ive eaten out an awful lot and the kids have had a few take outs- that's not included :rotfl:
Star Wars was FANTASTIC :T:T saw it at the local imax, used the meerkat code and unlimited card and was charged an extra £6.50 each , not too bad. Ds1 didn't want anything to eat after (perhaps due to the large popcorn he scoffed!) so a cheap treat all in all. I will be going again though as 1). It's was great and 2). It has mads mikkelsen in :happyhear
Tomorrow I've got a bit to sort out still so to do list is:
Finish wrapping last few bits
Swap presents with 3 friends then meet the girls for a drink and secret santa swap tomorrow night
Have friend over for quick coffee in the afternoon
Do all washing , dry on radiators and dryer ( to save time )
Plan boxing Menu - must just get on with it and write list
Dye roots
Paint festive toes and fingers
Strip all beds except mine whch has xmas eve covers that can't go on early!
Money shuffle , it's payday
Tidy and clean whole house
Dish out Xmas cards I've finally written , nobody who needs one posting will get one this year
Decide whether to ice Xmas cake , my general feeling is I can't be bothered, mil has bought us one and only dh eats it, plus it will take time that could be better spent drinking wineMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Melt a little bit of jam and stick halved glace cherries and nuts on it in circles - less effort, looks really good (and tastes nicer, imo - but I'm not a marzipan and icing fan!) Although only really works if you have the fruit and nuts already in, of course!
xx

Loan. £29,060.64

As at today:

New aa 0%cc. £0
Loan. £21,773
Total today outstanding ; £80,386
Total reduction so far this year: £84,958.11
Total Nov/Dec reduction :£6026.64MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
As an add on to the previous posts figures-
Target was 30k for this year, so although £84,958 has been paid off, effectively we have op'd £24,958 from wages which is £5k short, I did reduce my day's by one day per week near the start of the year as we were struggling with wages, that didn't help plus dd has started uni in London and her oyster fares are pretty high, that accounts for approx. £4,100 the rest I've basically overspent on this and that
Still it's been a good year for paying stuff off, for the first time in many years we have a £0 cc balance :T also I did not blow any money on a classic car :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Yet another post today, it's all or nothing on this diary!
Target set for next year :j
£38,545 - made up of £6,841 loan repayments and £31,704 mortgage ops.
It's going to be a bit of a challenge to say the least, but aim high and see how close you get is my motto :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
