Do you enjoy the taste ed? Or am I completely missing the point
Not particularly, but I can say hand on heart that a couple glasses of juice like I described + a glass of water makes me feel as clearheaded as a couple of AF days. Could be a placebo effect, but not complaining. The next 4-5 days will be a mix of terribly unhealthy meals and juice for the rest
That should read smoothies, can't see the point of juicing and throwing away all that lovely pulp!0 -
Well done debtfreeoneday, 5 stones is a lot to lose, best of luck trying to lose again.
Now I feel a bit of a failure for not even trying to give the nutri bullet a go, impressed that it makes you feel that good Ed!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Hi shs, just been on there and made a change,it was set to the max of lose 1.5lb a week so I changed to lose 1lb a week and the cals per day rose to 1650. I will do that daily and take it from there, I have still eaten a lot today and am on target, I guess the difference is no alcohol , that would have taken me way over
Hope all is going well with you , will pop in now and have a catch up
I tried to have a chat with dh tonight about the finances, after almost 6 years on mse nothing much has changed really, end result is - "its up to you what we priorotise, the mortgage probably."
Even though our situation and net worth is much better than when I joined mse, I think he still just sees the same things, big debts, big mortgage and no spare cash. But things are a lot better even if we still have a long way to go, I would go crazy if dh had full control of the finances, he really has no interest though! Too much on his plate with work I think.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Happy new year all
We had a quiet one, with only ds2 out. Watched pulp fiction and had an m and s diet ready meal, I did cave in and have 2x large glasses of red but now its at least dry january if not dry until the weight is gone.
Its been a funny year, lots of work stress again , which translates into personal finance worry. Being turned down for any changes to our rather short mortgage term was a shock, not even being able to switch to repayment was also rather bizarre but Thanks to some really tough talking on this diary though a few months ago, I had a massive kick up the backside. I feel more back to the place I was when joining, very keen and more determined.
Guilt and sentimentality have played a big part in how well all this goes, Having teenagers that live in a wealthy area with well of friends does not help with that, luckily ours are not expectant , the posh clothes etc. does not bother them. But my big regrets are the holidays we have not done, I would not change that descision paying down the mortgage has enabled us to have the loft converted and another bedroom/bathroom put in so they have their own rooms, its also allowed us to borrow money to help but the factory.
But I do feel a bit sad and just hope that when we can afford to travel that we can persuade them all to come with us.
Oops this has turned a bit melancholy for new years day and I don't even have a hangover :rotfl: Back later with yet more financial updates/targets.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Sw for me next week. I feel like such a cliche joining in January but my heads in the right place for it. I'm doing dry January too I'm sure alcohol is mostly to blame for my weight. Ridiculous really!Mortgage Jan 13 99260.00 87253 April 2017

Best of luck muser, lots of people say its a much easier less restrictive way than ww.
Fab night tonight watching sherlock :happyhear:happyhear:happyhear. Great episode and worth waiting two years for
Healthy eating going well, about 20cals over budget today , no booze from now on, fingers crossed I can stick to it, so far its been easy as i've been off work relaxing, could be harder when its back to work next week
Off to grans house tomorrow to pick up a very retro sideboard mum and aunt said I can have, its an origional heals 50's or 60's unusual sliding black and white bookcase. I have always loved it but didn't ask for it when clearing out as I knew it was quite valuable, should go well with the astral coffee table I bought last year.
There may also be a big old possibly walnut or mahogany chest thats being charity shopped, i may have to have that to for the hallway, we currently have a bright purple 1940's hallstand and mirror which I love but its literally falling apart now. If only we had a huge house to fill up with all this odd quirky furniture :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Happy New Year NG! Try not to worry about the travel, I grew up in a family that was house rich and holiday poor, we all got over it. Children find it far more easy to staycation anyway, as their friends will be nearby and they get a bit of independence as regards treats and activities once they have PT jobs etc. Anyway, they may trave with you as adults, we've managed a very successful villa holiday with inlaws and would do so again given the right circumstances0

Ridiculous really!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks ed
I didn't go anywhere except a caravan in Clacton with my parents, but now it's so much more the norm. I think I am just struggling with the fact they are teenagers and I can't make them do what I want anymore :rotfl:
Glad you managed a holiday with the Inlaws, not sure I could ever do that with mine (don't think dh could either!)
GG that rings true from what my friend at work said too, most weeks at ww he is the only one to actually lose anything he said, and then they have long discussions as to the reasons why they didn't lose.
Weighed myself today out of nosiness and have lost 4.5 lb since the 30th dec. It has to be an anomaly as I really can't see how it would come off at quick (unless I am way more of a pig than I thought, which is possible) still on 1650 cals a day which is enough, it's strange!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
