It's dh birthday Monday so I'm taking Him to prezz* tonight , it's budgeted for in the birthday pot so not out of my £1500, I have printed off a voucher though - 2nd main for £2.50 :money:
I also did quite well when popping round mums, 12 eggs, new scientist magazine and a tub of homegrown tomatoesMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well done on the batch cooking.
When I'm doing batch cooking, I tend to do one dish at a time, but a big vat of it.
But whatever way it's done, it's a great feeling when the freezer is stocked:)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Batch cooking makes it do much easier during the week. We try to do some every couple of weekends but have got in the habit of doing a quick meal plan on a Sunday afternoon too to see us through a busy working week.
Happy birthday to your DH for tomoro, it's my DH today and I feel a bit mean we are not going out now! Well done on finding the voucher for it though.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hi cath, belated birthday wishes to your dh, we did go out for dinner but the voucher was valid every day except Saturday which was very annoying!
It's his birthday today so when he gets home he has batch cooked spag Bol and a mr t value birthday cake with candles (£4) so a very cheap actual birthdayyesterday we went to a classic car show and thank goodness there were none for sale that he desperatly had to buy :rotfl:
I'm like a zombie today , 2 hours sleep last night then a 4 am start at work. I'm already in my pjs and hoping dh is not too late home tonight.
The budget is still on track and there is about £12 left until Friday, other than that nothing to report at all - I'm off to take down the hem of ds2 s school trousers, fingers crossed they look ok as I'll never get new ones in time for the new term at this late stage and they are ankle swingers :eek:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Horrid early starts this weeks again, the plus side is no traffic at 4am, the major downside is I Have been eating for England whenI get home
I've been having diet shakes at work and then eating again at home, not good.
I think I might have a try of just having the shakes for a couple of days if that's possible (without me supplementing it with 10 rounds of toast :rotfl:) just to get in the swing of things, I have put on 19 pounds in the last 2 years  and even 2 years ago I was a stone heavier than I wanted to be.
Not sure why I am struggling to lose weight really, a few years ago I lost 2 stones just by healthy eating and cutting right down, It just harder now I don't know why.
Anyway, I did a mini shop at mr on the way home £5.90 minus a £3.50 voucher, so I have £9.60 left until Friday.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

can you take some food into Work for you? I'm trying to lose weight, it's been harder for me since menop**se. All weight has settled round middle...now an apple shape! But would much rather take a salad in than cope with those shake drinks! Also porridge as well - easy made in a microwave if your able to? Just a thought... And if you want a weight loss buddy... I'm here!!
Best wishes

Thanks Bo that's very kind of you, a buddy would be great
we do have a microwave and I often have taken salad in too, I've just let things slide lately and the more I get fed up about it the more I seem to eat! It's always been the same if I am doing well not spending, I am eating a lot or vice versa :rotfl:
