I really need to balance the accounts now and work out the damage I've done. Also top of today's list is start a proper strict diet, cutting down is not working, so last night I made 7 portions of veggie curry for my dinners, I lost 2 stones a few years ago by having soup for lunch, curry for dinner it's repetitive but it did work for me, just wish I was not eating out tonight as it's not the best start
Oops also bought some £12 trainers that were much need thanks to martins email this week!
Start tomorrow, you can also have wine thenJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Another busy few days, we went to Southend Friday for a pretty frugal day out, mr t vouchers for the rides , £1.50 each for the kids chips, a sarnie from home for me ( trying to be good
) and £10 on ice creams.
This weekend is a quiet one, preparing dds stuff for her first festival :eek:I am so nervous about her going although she is sensible , doesn't really drink and is going in a group where each girl has an allocated boy to be their "minder" so it's about as organised as it could be, it's just she is my babyroll on next week when it's all over!
Tomorrow dh has a day off, he has worked himself into the ground lately so we will probably just stay at home at watch films all day (whilst sorting the washing/ironing) he has still been helping our friend lay decking in his garden, it was supposed to be a mutual day or two at each other's houses to help with each other's gardens, but dh has been there for weeks and weeks now, it really was too big a job for him to take on , it's difficult as he is a good friend and is very overweight to the extent that he struggles to do work in his house without help, fingers crossed it's nearly done as it's getting too much for dh.
Not sure about the finances as I've not checked for a few days since the splurge at primarniMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Today I have to get my butt into gear, dd is away weds and I'm working Monday/Tuesday plus the council and builder are coming weds to sign off on the loft conversion (almost a year later
)
So to do list for Sunday is:
Do all washing
Ditto ironing
Collect big rucksack from brother for dd to take away
Do finances
Draw out cash to lend to dd as she won't be paid in time
Trial run pack
Buy some food for her to take, plus any toiletries etc.
Meal plan until Thursday
Investigate other mini cruises - we May swap to a longer one now our friends can't make it
Stick to diet
That's it , back later to tick the whole lot offMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
You brought back memories of my Essex childhood - a day trip to Southend was an essential part of the summer:)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi Goldiegirl, it was for me too! Do you remember the crooked house? I was terrified of it and it was HUGE, now it's just this tiny little pink house
List is mostly ticked off , just a little washing left to do. Dds festival packing is done but there is quite a lot to take. Her and 4 strapping teenage boys are heading there in a ford fiesta with all their tents and stuff :eek:can't see it happening really, plus she is built like a sparrow so can hardly stand up with her backpack on, unfortunately the rest of the group are going by train so no more room anywhere else to squeeze stuff in.
Still not done the accounts and ordered a pizza delivery for the kids for tea1/10 for being a good mfw today.

I googled the crooked house, it looks all pastel and appealing - how disappointing that it's not sinister any more!:rotfl:
Hope DD enjoys her festivalEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I have had my daughter go to the V festival this weekend. Her back pack was bigger than her! She gets back this morning late I'm sure she's had a great time. I will have to catch up with her later as I'm taking my Mum for a hospital appointment.
Love reading your diary and keep thinking of saving to invest in a hot tub after reading about yours. Do you use yours much in winter?2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi miss money penny, to tell the truth we don't use it much now
it's used more if the kids have friends over, or used by my friends younger children. It used to be in the garden which was great at night with a glass of wine under the stars, but now it's in our log cabin.
Before we bought it we hade a lazy spa which might be a good alternative, they are way cheaper to buy (not as efficient to run though) but a lot of fun and you could just have it up during summer.
Dd has gone, it was hilarious in our front garden yesterday as it took half an hour to repack the boot and get it shut again, much amusement for all the passers by watching them all trying to squish their stuff in a car way too small, plus hide a few bottles of cider amongst their luggage
It's an early payday tomorrow :T 2nd proper mortgage payment to be paid £1713  the emergency fund will have to take a hit though due to the extra spending this month, I don't want to not pay the correct amount On the mortgage though, so I will try and build the Ef back up gradually over time.
Not sure what to do this weekend, dh has been unwell all week with a cold and has been suffering from work related stress again, still at work of course though! It would be nice to do something Saturday as it's our 18th wedding anniversary , blimey I feel old :rotfl: don't want to eat out really though as I'm trying to stick to a diet, plus can't go out late as the resident babysitter has gone to a festivalMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
