Early start today -4 am so I can get back early for he boys as dd was at work too, really tired now :o

I've made a mistake with dhs money and transferred it to the wrong account and not noticed for weeks , so now I have £150 less than I thought, tbh it did seem odd as I had a bit too much money so I paid more off the centerparcs balance, what an idiot!

Dinner made with the courgette I picked the other day :T judging by the state of the plants I think it may be the only thing that gets eaten from the garden this year :rotfl:

Hi cath thanks for popping in I hope you are well :) you are right after many years of changing our minds we took the plunge and it worked out for the best!

It's been a crazy week again, many ups and downs at work - even involving the police  we are half way to sorting out our issues with the another owner and I can happily report we have managed to get her to sell her shares in the company to the business :T we are still in a wrangle over the sale of the previous factory but that should come to a conclusion soon hopefully :D

Other news is my beautiful best friend is expecting a baby :D a lovely little surprise, but a little ill timed as it's due on her 40th birthday - no crazy night out for us then :rotfl:

The kids are driving me crazy today , but have got so bored that they have sorted out all their DVDs to exchange at the game shop :T

I need to balance the account today but am a little scared as I know I've over spent by at least £88 - Lenny kravitz tickets for dhs birthday, plus some Xmas stocking fillers- where's wally men's pj bottoms £3 and some boys shop shower gels for dd on offer plus with a discount from mums body shop card :money: sorry if it's a bit early for all that but in my defence the card factory has a whole wall of Xmas cards out already :D

Off to the game exchange store today with TONS of DVDs to exchange , not really what I had planned for our weekly outing in the holidays , but everything else was refused this week :( I shall be stricter with them next week!

Just debating whether to try and get dd dr who tickets for Xmas for the wembly one off show next year, she is desperate to go but I don't want to spend at the moment, perhaps I should leave it up to fate as the chances are very slim of actually getting a pair as they are only doing one day in this country.

I think I'll slink off now as this seems more like a confessional for overspending rather than a mfw diary :rotfl:

A very spendy day :o I bought the doctor who tickets £108 ( best seats at the front though ) plus the twins saw a similar thing - classical music to scenes of their favourite games , so I ended up getting three tickets for that too £115  the kids can have a ticket each as part of their Xmas presents and I'm hoping that dh and I can do the same. The Xmas budget has taken a hammering now.

Ds2 had so many games to exchange today he managed to get £130 and got himself a wii and a load of games and accessories plus ds1 got a load of stuff for his Xbox and gave him the money. They are now playing the games they used to play together when they were little, it's quite sweet (except the occasional loud yelling when they lose at tennis :rotfl:)

I've been for a swim at the gym, my best friend Just has too much on at the moment plus her little ones are at home, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and start going on my own, don't want the membership going to waste ;)

I've been having a chat with dd who was out for a meal for a friends birthday last night, all her friends are at college but work as well, all of them earning and working more than dd does at the moment, and at least half of them are usually "broke" but are turned out in pretty pricy designer clothes, nice hairdos , posh bags and have beauty treatments.

After years of lectures from me (I even printed off martins massive finance guide for kids) she seems to have clicked with it all :T it's early days and she's only working one day a week , but is saving half her money to an isa , and then splitting the rest in half for day to day stuff and then holidays / longer term stuff.

I will be so pleased if she is sensible with money and doesn't make the huge mistakes I have made over the years getting into over30k of debt on nothing really.

But it does show what the norm often is these days, parents seem to almost encourage their kids to want expensive stuff. A friend of one of my (14yr old) boys was bought 2x designer watches for his birthday, I mean £100's per watch. It just seems to be getting crazier, with many kids being bought brand new cars before they have even passed their test. There are a lot of wealthy parents where we live but even those who don't appear to be rolling in it seem to follow the same path with their kids.

Another friend is squashed into one bedroom with an older sibling and niece, and yet the parents are about to spend thousands on a party for her 18th , none of my business I know, I just find it fascinating :D

Oh dear it's turned into a rant :o

We had a nice meal out with the inlaws last night as a late birthday meal for the boys last week, mil insisted on paying for most of it , so a cheap night. Today it's my grans 82nd birthday so we are taking her to the little village pub where we side to live, foods ok and it super cheap (especially as only dd is coming with us).

The last few days I've been putting together a "bucket" list , not for any worrying reason , just because I'm turning 40 in March and thought after the last 18 years of marriage/kids/day to day stress and being in debt, it's time to do something a bit out of the ordinary :D

It's almost finished (when it is I shall post it , otherwise I am liable to lose it ) anyway one of the items on the list was going to a proms at the Albert hall. This morning my dad rang to offer me a ticket for tonight to go with him :T him and my brother go to a lot of them every year and had booked back to back tomorrow and tonight , so little brother didn't want to go twice in a row.

Not sure Mozart is my thing but got to give it a try!

Hello there, I think it's a great idea to do a list of different things that you want to experience.

Sometimes, we can spend so much time thinking about day to day living, we forget about the bigger picture.

It's made me think about the things I want to do over the next 10 - 15 years, mostly concerning long haul travel, while I'm still reasonably fit and healthy. I shall have to have a ponder!

As for Mozart, I'd say go for it.

On our recent river cruise, we went to an evening concert in Vienna, which featured music by Mozart and Strauss. It was completely brilliant. The orchestra were clearly enjoying themselves immensely, and I recognised a lot of the tunes.

Thinking of bucket lists, I've never been to a ballet yet, so that should go on my list

Will look forward to reading what you'd like to achieve:)

Hi goldiegirl thanks for popping in :) the proms was good last night, very hot in there but nice to go with dad.

I think planning a few things for the future is a good thing , it's so easy to get stuck in a rut and nobody is getting any younger, my outlook has changed on the last couple of years and I no longer lust after much "stuff" at all , it's more the desire for more time with friends and family and experiencing new things/having some fun :D

    Bucket list to follow soon!

We had a good mini day out today, visiting the "who" shop in upton park. Full of tourists and really expensive but interesting if you are a fan , a good little small museum there too :)

The budget is stretched a lot (as usual) at the moment, but the fact we are not away this summer has helped a lot, as no matter how much i plan for it I always end up spending on bits before we even go.

Tomorrow I have two friends and their 3 little boys round for lunch, it's nice but my house is a shocking hell hole of mess at the moment  it's not had a good clean and tidy for two weeks now, I need to get up and get on, wish me luck :D
