There's nothing naughty about a few summer clothes
especially as it's hoped that we'll actually get a summer this year!
Lots of luck to your dhCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Newgirly - are you a silver bug? If you think that the value of your one day estate is likely to be in inheritance tax territory, silver Britannias are VAT exempt. That said, they are dearer to buy than Maples (and my favourites, Philharmonics)
Can I join the chorus pointing out how important it will be you and your hard working DH to have reasonable pensions? Definitely prioritise this over paying off your mortgage before you have to. Time in the market (i.e. time with money invested) is one of the single most important factors when letting your investments grow in value.0 -

Thanks for popping in everyone
To summarise:
I shall definaltly be sorting a pension and will talk to work today about it.
We need to think about taking longer to clear the mortgage whilst saving and paying into pensions.
Hi ed I only have one coin so far (Canadian maple) but love buying them and will carry on

Soooo tired, very busy at work at the moment, up at 5am to do some washing , work followed by a big ald* shop, cooking, swimming and general child organising , or rather nagging
I managed to spend £97 on food today , the most I've ever spent there. Although I did buy 3 bottles of wine and 2 of prossecco (sp?) it's for a friends 40th birthday do Friday, we are having drinks at mine first. we have paid £50 each for dinner wine and entertainment (drag queens and "cheeky " waiters ) at this venue, dh said he will take us there and we were getting a lift back from some one else's dh, but I have been sent a text today saying a lift has been arranged by someone else for £50 to get home so we need to split the cost. Seems a bit steep to me but I won't be the one saying thatjust have to stop dh asking for £50 when he drops us all off :rotfl:
Spoke to work about pensions today, lady who runs the office said company pension is not deducted via wages , she is making a manual payment from company accts for the minimums and if you want to pay more basically pay it yourself ! No idea the full details yet but very frustrating as she is clearly clueless, dh is even paying a company to do the payroll to make life easier for her , so not even her job to have to organise it. Its one of many ongoing issues office wise at the moment. Suffice to say the company will pay £40 pm to a pension for me , I just need to decide whether to top up there or start a seperate one myself after lots of research.
The company one is with L&G , I have no idea what sort of fund or charges but judging by past experience it will not be the best, we recently found out the phone bills for the work phone system cost tens of thousands over the last few years , as the previous boss took a free home deal as a sweetener!
Anyway I need to take a good look on the investments board as there is a massive gap in my financial knowledge when it comes to pensions.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I'm working again today although going in late, we have the judges visiting in two groups later in the day.
Last night I booked a break to butlins for the weekend before Xmas, I nearLy booked a few weeks ago but then the price went up by £80. I had a quick look last night and it's now worked out much cheaper than originally, 38% discount plus 3% cash back plus £20 may discount off and £20 online discount  so a total of £320 for a silver apartment at Bognor. I was tempted to book the meal plan but will wait and see I think , maybe later in the year if I have saved the extra.
We are off to see the theatre (at the cinema ) version of the curious incident of the dog in the night tonight, the boys don't actually want to go miserable watsitsI shall make them go anyway
