Alton towers was full on but went well, lots of effort to get there and self cater just for 2 nights but well worth it. We spent £16 on a bucket of chicken for the kids for lunch one day other than that it was just a couple of cups of tea and petrol  so as it was a nice cheapy one I am attempting to pay for it from this weeks budget , and now have £14 left until next Monday  not ideal with the kids off and hungry all the time!

I rang the nationwide yesterday and it appears that I was given incorrect info last week and dh will be classed as self employed  lots of wasted time by me making plans and doing research, so now we have to stick with the chelsea.

I have had a 1 hour phone interview as the law has changed and they have to get every detail from you every time you want to extend/decrease term, change to a new rate when your deal ends, change from IO to repayment, it's a bit crazy as how will they cope with all the calls?

Anyway, I decided to go with the 2.59% 2 yr fix instead of the 5 yr fix as its high redemption penalties and I have never fixed for that long before.

What a pain! I was sure you could set yourself up as an employee of a limited company, it doesn't sound at all right that you'd be classed as self employed? I'd probably query that, THIS seems to say you could be an employee, not sure if there's more info on the HMRC website or some such? I really miss the business link website, that used to have answers to all my questions. :(

It might be different if you're a company director but I'm sure it at least used to be that you could choose to withdraw a salary and be regarded as an employee. Not wanting to waste more of your time, lol, but if it means a big difference in your own finances and they've apparently already got it wrong once then I'd be double checking things xx

Hi pearla, thanks for posting that :) the problem lies with the fact he is a paid director of the company as well as a shareholder , so nothing doing until the company start to make a profit, hopefully in the next couple of years.

Feeling a bit more human today after a proper nights sleep. I have been spending today as well, ns&i have refunded back the last premium bond I bought as the paper work was not returned in time :o so as is am a month ahead of myself with the £100 savings as I've topped up over the usual, so I have kept the refund.
Only because both boys needed new school shoes and I'm skint, I did however end up spending more than that, £48 worth of body shop stuff thanks to :money: email this week, 4 x big gift sets for Xmas and a few stocking fillers, they were in the sale then another 40% off and free delivery.

Also today as my lazy teens (except dd ) couldn't be bothered to let me take them out for a sh*keaway milkshake , I bought the stuff to make my own! chocs from the £1 shop , value mr s ice cream and a blender from arg*s for £9.89 which will also help with making cheap soup. Even with the layout of the blender it's not much dearer than buying 3x large shake , apparently they are around £5 each

Apart from that I've made some washing gloop again, it's something I've not bothered with for a while , but I'm trying to get a bit more old style again so its a start.

1/2 bar of lemon soap grated
Couple of table spoons borax substitute (optional)
    1/3 mug of soda crystals

Put in a saucepan and top up with hot water, heat until dissolved
Pour into a washing up bowl/bucket , top up half as much again of cold water, stir , decant into empty milk cartons or coke bottles.:)

Popped round to see mum and dad last night , what a result I came back with:

    12 eggs
1/2 pot houmous, 1/2 pot tziki (sp?)
    Left over Greek salad
Tickets for dd and me to see MICHAEL BUBLE !!!!

We are going with mum, in dec to the O2 :j she did ask the other day if we wanted to go and I said yes but we won't be as I can't justify paying hundreds to go.

So she has booked and paid for them anyway. I have no idea how much they cost but are near the front low down, she did say there were some closer right at the front but they were £1,700  I don't think I want to know how much they cost as I will feel very guilty!

Last year I started listening to my Xmas buble cd in sept, does this mean I will have to start even earlier this year?!
